Pretty good summary although I might have us ahead of Tampa and Seattle. If BJ Askew was our biggest loss..... but we have now got Sean Ryan and Darian Barnes , so no loss, (hopefully). No prizes for guessing whos at #1 :shit: 7. New York Jets Very busy off-season for Tannenbaum, Mangini and Co. New York 's biggest move was a pre-draft deal to bring in 1,000-yard rusher Thomas Jones from Chicago. Jones — who will be paired alongside rookie standout Leon Washington in the backfield — brings another playmaker to the Jets efficient offensive attack. New York also took a low-risk gamble on the former #3 overall draft pick from the 1998 NFL Draft, Andre Wadsworth. Darrelle Revis and David Harris, the team's first and second round draft choices, should start next season on defense. Biggest gain: Thomas Jones, RB Biggest loss: B.J. Askew, FB Are they in better shape now than they were in January? I'd say so. New York added a feature tailback via trade, and two potential starters on defense through the draft. They didn't lose much in doing so, either. At the very least, they kept pace as the second best team in the AFC East. View the rest http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6817586
I am not sure how you can call it a great offseason when we have done next to nothing about addressing our woeful run blocking OL.
Did you guys honestly think that we would address EACH AND EVERY need of the team in one offseason? Keep in mind that June 1st cuts could yield another gem, like Kendall a few years ago.
H'mm lets see the NYJs have been now building for over 38 years & are still in the wilderness now do you think that is more then one day because those 38 years equates to around 14,000 days?
We are probably one season away from being serious contenders heading DEEP into the playoffs. Next year, we can focus on obvious needs like OL and DT, TE perhaps depending on how Baker pans out and surely a WR to complement the corps. The fact remains that we certainly improved upon last year but that we are closing the gap on what we need to do to bring this team to the promised land. The moves above, coupled with the PATS and COLTS team aircraft colliding midair somewhere over the midwest will almost guarantee that the Jets claim the AFC title in another year.
Not Manginis rebuilding though is it? He cannot be held accountable for the crap we have had to endure. At least he and Tannenbaum have some kind of a plan.
Of course they were responsible for the stuff that happened before they were even born  (just getting a jump on champ's ridiculous reply )
Exactly what I was going to point out. If we as Jets fans can put the past in the past and look towards the future after all these disappointing years, we will be better off. This is a new regime, a better regime then we have had in a very very very long time. They do have a plan and if given the chance to implement it, without too much backseat driving, look out. :jets:
Its a work in progress, we all expect our o-line to be better then last season. We had two rookies starting, what did you expect?
I'm sorry but i have to disagree... as ESPN noted, our biggest offseason loss was Ramsey. Seriously though, we did have a pretty productive offseason. Of course it has been overshadowed by that other team but the FO did a good job I think. Obviously you can't address everything at once but we're heading in the right direction.
considering the last two years i would say we had the best offseasons in the nfl. the 2006 draft, and now jones and 2 defensive players that can come in and start right away, pretty damn good IMO.
It'll be interesting to see how the bears running game unfolds with Benson ( who is currentley injured) and..... Peterson. I hope Benson can block
So you think that by some magic we are going to be better then the Patriots next year? Why do you think that? What on earth have we done and have they not done to make that even remotely possible?
I'm sorry, but I don't understand how you can be skeptical of a HC/GM duo that turned a 4-12 team into a a 10-6 in one year. You can't get mad at them until the Jets start losing.
