1 year, 28 million is what the ticker on the bottom of the screen is showing.

The real key is for them to stay close now. As long as they stay no worse then 5 back they'll be fine. What they can't do is fall totally out of it or it will be a total waste. Just not sure what we can realistically expect with two rookies pitching in the 4 and 5 spot for the next month. Hopefully the bats will stay hot.

And Clemens is right? He's the 4 starter tomorrow. Its only May buddy and were only 5 games back. I would have loved to hear your tune if the Sox got Clemens. It would probably would have been a fantastic move.

heh. Yeah. It would seem like a smarter move even though they have a stronger staff than us at the time before the signing (still may now). But yeah, you're definitely right about that.

I'll take that matchup between staffs once Hughes and Clemens are here. So far Boston has had no injuries at all. Wait until they start, they always do. Our lineup with that staff in June will be pretty much unbeatable.

You're only kidding yourself if you don't think George brought him to save the staff.

Those are two seperate things. Any intelligent Yankees fan does not expect him to be the savior. We are not in a state of panic back 5 games in the beginning of May. The boss has been known to make rash decisions like this all the time

I don't like this. But if you think he's the 4 guy, you're wrong. And if he pitches like the 4th best on the team, given the rotation now, the Yankees are still in trouble.

I was at the game today and that announcement was absolutely amazing. They interrupted the "Take me out to the Ballgame" song to say there was an important announcement. It was done really dramatically. Great day to be at the game.

Saying he's the 4 guy behing Wang, Moose n Pettite, really isnt a knock on him. Im just trying to be fair as a Yankees fan and not overvalue him

I'm not saying to overvalue him, but if he can't be more than the 4 in that rotation, not only is the money that much more ridiculous, but it really doesn't help the rotation all that much.

Look at the alternative. At 28 million Clemens is a bargain. Certainly a much better deal then the 100 million they paid for Matsusaka. If you wanted to go out and get a really good pitcher now it would cost 3-4 top prospects AND you would still have to pay him over 20 million a year. For how long? 5 years minimum. Probably wouldn't be as good as Clemens anyway. This way you pay 20 million for 2/3 of a season and can walk away at the end. Really the cheapest alternative imaginable. Good business decision and he knows the division.

Other then the proven steroid users I'm not sure there's a bigger piece of shit in baseball then Roger Clemens. Everything about him screams scumbag, from his on field thuggery to the pathetic rock star demands off the field.

Don't rule out that Clemens wasn't on roids. I lean towards the fact that he was.
