Among the teams Johnson and his agent are thought to be concentrating on are the Packers, Seattle, the New York Giants, San Francisco, Tennessee and the New York Jets. Johnson entered the NFL as the No. 1 overall pick of the Jets in 1996, was traded to Tampa Bay for two first-round picks in 2000 and played four years in Tampa Bay, two in Dallas and one in Carolina. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=600950
Keyshawn to Dallas? My brother was telling me last night that he read that he will end up in Dallas but I can't find anything saying that. Did anybody else hear this? Plus he a Dallas fan.
Dallas doesn't even seem to be on the list. "Among the teams Johnson and his agent are thought to be concentrating on are the Packers, Seattle, the New York Giants, San Francisco, Tennessee and the New York Jets. "
SD is out: Sources also said the Chargers told agent Jerome Stanley they are not interested in Johnson.
I'M TO THE POINT TAH WHERE IT DON'T MATTER NO MORE. IT'D BE NICE IF HE CAME BACK. BUT IF NOT? F@#k IT. HE'LL PROB. WANT TOO MUCH TO DO SO ANYWAY.
I say pass. 1) He'd want too much money, money we could invest in someone else who may pop up this year. 2) He's not the receiver he was in his prime. 3) I can't get rid of the taste of the way he belittled Wayne Chrebet and others and the immense disruption he caused in the lockerroom. I've seen no evidence he's changed his stripes and he certainly hasn't "grown up" one iota... still the same old pain in the ass he ever was when writing "Gimme The Damn Ball." We need his presence like we need a hole in the head. I can see it now... running around the field openly mocking Pennington for not getting him the ball, getting into altercations with Coles and Cotchery. No thanks. Let's spend the money elsewhere.
Too much money? He was due $2.5 million base this year right? Is Keyshawn not worth that much money? Considering JMac is making that much, whos better? I don't care that he isn't the WR he was in his prime...He just had over 70 receptions and over 800 yards last season, pretty damn good for a 2nd option. And now put him as a 3rd WR, if he accepts? What is so wrong about that? Some of you just need to forget his little stuff with Chrebet...So he wanted to get paid after producing Pro Bowl seasons and the Jets couldn't pay him so he wanted a trade...Fine. I have no bitterness towards Key and would welcome him without a doubt.
Exactly, i was a big wayne chrebet fan, i don't think many people werent. Keyshawn was a #1 pick, and wanted #1 pick money, and number 1 pick stardom, and wanted the damn ball.... Can you blame him? Hes older, more mature, and wants to play. Personally i think he goes to the Titans..but i want him here.
You can want him here 'till the cows come home, but I haven't seen Tannenbaum tripping over himself dialing up Key's number over the weekend, have you? Maybe the FO agrees with the reasoning in my post.
