 On a side note, since we got to see him work out in person, if we don't pick him up at this point when he's basically free, then we obviously saw something that we didn't like when he was brought in.
Eagles or Saints may have signed Walter Thomas. Saints signed Rhema McKnight. Giants may have signed Brandon Myles.
what about aaron fairooz, 6'6 206lbs wr out of central arkansas Combine: 4.49 in the 40-yard dash … 1.57 10-yard dash … 2.57 20-yard dash … 4.27 20-yard shuttle … 6.89 three-cone drill … 36-inch vertical jump … 10-foot-5 broad jump.
I really hope we sign a big DT, we need one. This Mike Devito kid is not 3-4 DT at 295. I read some bios, and he is a tweener, 4-3 DT or 3-4 DE. We need a big DT, atleast 330lbs.
Sounds like Paul Thompson from Oklahoma is a Jet...he's a QB/WR prospect...ran a 4.6 at the combine and just seemed to be willing to do whatever it took to convince a team to take a chance on him...anyway, there was a story in today's Daily Oklahoman that mentioned him to the Jets: Quarterback Paul Thompson was in contact with a handful of teams, but settled on an offer from the New York Jets, who have Chad Pennington, Kellen Clemens and Marques Tuiasosopo already on the roster. I cannot post the link, since I just got here, but it's in a story about Rufus Alexander joining Peterson in Minnesota if you'd like to look...
Paul Thompson is 6'4" 214. I vaguely remember him in the Boise State bowl game. Not very accurate and not the runner Brad Smith is, but I like the height for WR.
He was a pretty good QB here at OU, but really wasn't asked of much...when Bomar was the starting QB, Paul was moved to WR to help out the team and he did a good job there...he showed good hands and has a good frame for a WR...I think he is set on making it as a QB...he is a pretty good QB, but probably not NFL-caliber at that position... I'd love to see him make the Jets, who I consider my second favorite team... His game against BSU was a bad one...he didn't play that badly during the season, for the most part...
The Utah fans hated him, my best friend is a Utah season ticket holder and tehy couldn't wait to get him out of Salt Lake. This guy is training camp fodder and wouldn't expect anything else of him. Now I do like the Peters signing, I remember seeing a UNLV/Hawaii game a few years ago and there were a bunch of fights in the stands, somehow Peters ended up climbing into the stands to break up one. (I kid you not). I think he has a good shot to make the team. I could see him being our 3rd safety. I love the speed the guy has and he is all over the field. Reminded me alot of Palomalu in college.
So do we actually have any CONFIRMED UDFA signings? I'm not trying to be a smartass. I realize this thread is more about people speculating on who they might like. I've just been at work all day and can't find anything "official" about signings.
i like the peters pick, during the nfl combine on nfl network, he was their and he was a big guy and they kept talkin about how was so big and he is a linebacker in a safety's body
He is on San Diego but I agree he would have been a good pick up. He should have stayed in school though.
What ever happened to Duckworth? A lot of guys were calling for him to be taken with our 7th rounder.
Jet sign Utah UFA QB Apr 30 J.P. Pelzman, of the Bergen Record, reports the New York Jets have signed undrafted free-agent QB Brett Ratliff (Utah). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/teams/nyj/notes http://utahutes.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/ratliff_brett00.html Can a mod please move this to the UDFA thread , thanks.
