Yeah, I think the reason a lot of people think he was in it is cause he was supposed to graduate this year. But midway through his Jr year(2005 season) he broke his leg against tennessee on a kick return and was out for the year. So because of that he was granted a medical redshirt. So he'll be a 5th yr senior next year.
Did you guys listen to the interview with Mangini and Tannenbaum? Both said explicitly that if any of the undrafted guys want a chance to compete, the Jets will be looking for them. I love the ideology that Tangini has brought to the Jets.
undrafted FAs that could come in and help... im a homer, and im gonna say clark harris.....TE.....outta Rutgers. as sad as i am by leonard going to the rams (and not our gang green) ill still rock a rams jersey from time to time....i would like to see the FO bring harris in and give him a shot to take a chance at a TE position. good hands, decent speed, and a very good football brain. id like to see him end up here. your thoughts? who didnt get drafted that you would like to see here? (aside from the 370 lb cartwheel man....)
There's plenty of threads on this already... Plus, Clark Harris was drafted by the Packers in the 7th round.
I guess that means we cut everyone under the age of 25.Gimme a break with that Walter Thomas nonsense.
didnt see they took him....that sucks....2 of the guys i wanted to see on the jets end up in the mid west...CH in GB and BL in st louis....
You're right... But still, 28 is when players should be in the prime of their careers. He's not old....
Matt Trannon Height: 6-6 Weight: 237 Position: Wide Receiver/H-Back College: Michigan State 40 time:4.57
It's a shame he hasn't done more... The guy is 6-6 220ish with solid speed and played at a great football program and still couldn't get himself drafted. He's definately worth a look..
i think he would be a great asset to the team...a man this build is something we have been missing in the redzone for years.
Name: Martin Jackson Height: 6-4 Weight: 254 lbs Position: DE/OLB College: Alcorn State 40 Time: Avg-4.74 Low-4.68 High-4.83 Overview: Alcorn States's Martin Jackson 6'4" 252 4.74 is a DE/OLB tweener he has played both positions in college and is probably best suited to playing 3-4 OLB. In 2004 he moved to DE and has little experience in coverage and only has 2 PBUs and no INTs. In 2004 he rung up: 39 tackles, 5.5 tackles for a loss of 14 yards. Two sacks for loss of 10 yards one pass break up, four quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. In 2005 he accounted for 28 solos 24 assists 52 Total 17TFL with 72 yards lost, 11.5 sacks with-66 yards lost, 1 PBU 2 hurries and 4FF. Like all players his size and speed the question of position and system will determine his chances for success at the next level. Jackson entered the 2006 season as one of the best pass rushers in the SWAC and all of Division I-AA. A converted linebacker, Jackson possesses a rare combination of speed, strength and determination. He is expected to be a defensive leader. He is like a smaller Andre Carter and is not quite as versatile as a Willie McGinest type, nor is he as explosive as Demarcus Ware. Strengths: Natural pass rusher with good flexibility and burst. Weaknesses: His main weakness is just, weakness that he currently lacks the lower body power to anchor against offensive linemen. Projection Could go as early as round 4 but this is a DE rich draft class and more likely he goes in round 5. News: DE's to Watch: Every year there is a relatively small school defensive lineman who storms up the draft board. NFL scouts are hoping that Jackson is this season's DeMarcus Ware, and the Alcorn State star certainly has aspects of his game reminiscent of the former Troy playmaker. Like Ware, Jackson has seen time at linebacker and has dominated this level. Jackson earned All-American honors in 2005, finishing with 52 tackles and leading the SWAC with 17 tackles for loss, and 11.5 sacks.
