our team is sooo much better. 1-dbrick/mangold in 2nd year now, with thomas/washington pounding out big run yardage. 2- welcome home the play action pass, chads best weapon that was as non-exhiastant last year as our running game. Defense: 1- 2nd yr in new 3-4 system, which mean entire D will play MUCH better. 2- we DID pick up off-season d-lineman and pass rush upgrades, remember? 3- plus we got big ass d-lineman coming back from early season ending injuries 4- rhodes, bowling ball with knives, and BT started coming on real strong 5- not one, but two man/man DBs is rare in the nfl, which means we can now blitz rhodes anytime we want because we can, not b/c we have to. 6- teams can draft 10 yrs in a row and NEVER end up with a shut down corner. we've been trying to replace arron glenn for how long now? lineman, on the other hand, are there every year. 7- its not like we passed up mario to take revis. we landed our 2nd man/man corner this year (the hardest to fill), and can focus next year on other needs that develop after our 2nd season playing 3-4. 8- just a hunch- miller will see time as the 3rd/4th reciever.
Great Trade for Dallas. They give the 22nd pick to Cleveland for a (2) this year and a (1) next year.Great deal for both teams.
Desperate and weak is a Pats fan so preoccupied with the Jets he spends his draft day over here worrying about what's happening with us.
was hoping we'd switch spots with Pittsburgh and get a 2nd rounder back. That would have been a coup.
I think it's too early to be saying the team is "sooo much better" Let's wait until the draft is over before we make bold declarations.
Yea, theres no way that revis would have been there at 25 considering the giants would have prob taken him at 20 (if cincy would have passed on hall for revis) And theres no doubt in my mind that the giants would have taken either revis or hall at 20 over ross
http://youtube.com/results?search_query=darrelle revis&search=Search With him returning punts and Miller returning kicks we could easily have the best ST unit in the league
It's always my opinion that Trade-Ups like this can ONLY mean that the FO - Bradway, Tanny, and Mangini must think this guy was one of the best players in this draft and is an absolute incredible CB..... No doubter. Bradway has a little more say in this draft eh.. That's a Bradway move. It's the kind of move that puts your manhood on the line saying THIS GUY HAS NO QUESTIONS.... just like Drob and just like Moss when they traded up. I'm much more of a fan of trading back and aquiring picks like the Pats do. You have to find a CB that you can coach up in a later round, that's supposed to be the HC's specialty... Hey, I like Revis and I think he can be a pretty good CB... It's just too much to pay - Value chart or not.
I trust that Mangini and the rest of the suits now what they are doing. I have to be honest, I know nothing about him.
According to the draft value chart we got 1115 in exchange for 1055.. the difference in these numbers equals a 4th round pick that we should have also had to give up... an amazing trade
There's been a lot of talk that lately that the value chart is over valued plus you use more cap space on a higher pick..... Bottom line, a pick like this says the FO thinks Revis is a Sure thing, and he better be.
GOOD LORD he better. Any defensive player selected in the First better bring A game and be ready to roll.
If Mangini felt he was the best CB in the draft and felt the need to move to 14th who do you think knows better then a guy who coached Ty Law,Rodney Harrison,Lawyor Milloy, and Asante Samuels?..let me answer that...NO ONE!!!
