I'm kind of disappointed that we traded up and lost a second round pick at this point. Revis might be able to change my tune after next season, but right now I'm really hoping we package a player or two to recoup that lost pick.
No one's taking on Pennington's contract, never mind the cap hit to the Jets. Clemens is already the QB of the future.
Trade? What trade? Oh yeah we gotem! Revis better be a probowl shutdown corner and not Derrick Strait. We needed picks!
That's not the case at all. The Jets have tons of young, developmental talent and depth. They have specific, glaring needs for about 5 roster spots. But that's about it.
I didn't have the same problem as others did with the previous regime but I'm happy with the new one too. My take has always been to give the guys who are actually paid to work in football the benefit of the doubt (at least most of the time) and try to be reasonable when I judge if something is good or bad.
That's horrible logic. Other teams had different needs. Hey, Carriker didn't get drafted in the top 10, he must suck too. Why do you suppose other teams passed on any given player? They have their own needs.
WHy are people unhappy about the price? The price for moving up 111 spots to get the best CB in the draft was a number 2 (59) and a 5th rounder!!!! A fith rounder and we still get Carolina's 6th rounder!!! We still have a second rounder, so what is the fuss all about? If Revis was not a good player I could see what the arguement is. I trust our CS.I think people here just want to see us draft in every round, regardless of the talent level.I want us to get the best players avaialble, and so far we have grabbed the best CB. All I care about is getting a 4th rounder now.Draft Barrett, Mac Cariens and Barton and see what we get.For those who are saddened by the loss of our fifth rounder , we can get that pick back through a combination of those three.
i'm hoping you're kidding, considering the giants already have manning, no need for pennington:lol: :breakdance:
I love it, a Pats fan is saying a great player doesn't drop that far. I'm glad you spent that 1st overall DP on Tom Brady.
We had to panic and get a CB to cover the outstanding pickups by the Pats this offseason (Stallworth and Washington). Frankly, we still are entirely undermanned in terms of covering the Pats' talent, but maybe now we'll lose 35-7 instead of 49-7. When you're a Jets fan, Sean, you have to take your wins whatever way you can get them.
I would have preferred to stay at 25 and really solidify our O-line, but to get a legit shutdown corner ain't a bad consolation.
I can't argue with any pick in the first 13 other than Ginn, Yeah Buffalo could have used a CB about as equally as they needed a RB. Well this draft is thick in CB's and very light in RB's. So they took the runningback.
What panic? For trading up, giving up one of the TWO 1st round picks for arguably the top rated Cornerback in thedraft? Whats the problem?
