I apologize in advance if this has been posted before.

    From today's Star Ledger:

Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, but I never knew exactly how much NO wanted for Bush. Seeing what they were asking now, I'm thinking to myself, hey, that's actually not a bad deal, and I kinda wish they had done it. But I have faith in the FO. Hopefully they made the right choice. I think if D'Brick really starts to pan out and becomes a perennial pro-bowler, then the decision will start to look better and better....

Wish they had done it? What line were was Bush going to run behind?

TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much, way too much for the Jets- that would have been a "luxary" type move, the kind of move you make if you're one player away from the big dance.

We're much better off with D'brick and Mangold than Bush, no doubt about it.

It would have been worth it just so we don't have to deal with any more "Schlegel was a mistake" type of threads.....

Im not convinced that Bush is THAT MUCH better than Leon. I like our draft as is.

I agree. NO has a lot less to look to on O other than Bush now and don't forget that he does kick returns for them. I think Bush's biggest advantage is his good hands and having a QB with a better arm to hit him on those short routes without painting a target on his back.

I'd much rather Mangold and Ferguson. Without them, Our OL would still be a mess, we'd probably be coming off a losing season, and Bush would probably be injured because of the poor OL play, not to mention Chad's potential status. With them, we have the foundation for having a dominant line for the next decade or more. It's a no brainer for me.

Not a bad deal? We already had the number 4 pick. They wanted all that to move up two spots and he's one hit on the knee from being out of football forever.

think about this; the jets could have made this trade and still drafted OT Marcus McNeill in round 2.

I can't believe we took Anthony Schegel instead of Reggie Bush. What was Tanginiway thinking?

Think about this then: the Jets still could have picked up McNeill last year if they took a pass on Clemens. In hindsight, it would have been a much better pick and our starting OL would have been D'Brick, Kendall, Mangold, Moore and McNeill.

The decision is fine now. Mangold alone was worth more to this team than any runner would have been. Obviously at the time it wasn't clear that Mangold was going to rise to the opportunity as he has, even so a rebuilding team needs offensive linemen a lot more than backs.

Sure and we'd be without our starting center for the next 10 years. Sure, McNeil has taken to the league better than Brick, and his size is certainly a huge plus, but I'm hoping that Brick will surpass McNeil this year and become the dominant LT that he was drafted to be.

    Sorry, not buying it.

Hindsight / Monday Morning QB'ing is always easier. They took Clemens with an eye towards the future. They didn't know what they had in Pennington and still don't know if he can take this regime where they want to go so let Clemens play before bashing the pick

On top of that, that extra second that we got from trading out of position to draft McNeil yeilded Thomas Jones and a young hopeful in this years draft in the second.

So it's either McNeil or Clemens, Jones, and another second rounder this year.

    Why?

Bush, like Leon, has alot of questions about him running between the tackles. Don't forget he played in the weaker conference too.

I don't know if Bush'll ever become a feature back.

Bush is going to be a star. I'd be willing to wager that Mangold will go to more pro bowls though.

Bush has already shown the type of talent at the Pro level that will get a team far if they build an offense around him. Leon is a speedy dude, and has great moves, but he can't hold Reggie Bush's jock.
