While thread rating is definitely subjective, some jerk has decided to give every thread in this forum one star. Now every thread is not a winner, but people don't need to be obnoxious. The point of thread rating is to help people with limited time find the most interesting threads. I'm sure I just set myself up for a one star thread, but trolls really bug me.
I agree man this is retarded and borderline offensive for people just trying to give their opinions, whether it be on the draft or the team itself.
I just gave you 5 stars. PS The guy who's giving one star fits the mold of a 30+ year old, undoubtedly living in his mother's basement, unemployed and has yet to get laid- nothing better to do than give one star on a Jets message board.
Ok, raise your hand if you decide to read a thread because of the rating? <looks around - no hands> Everybody go back to what you were doing. :breakdance: Seriously, do people really use the ratings system on here?
I actually use it sometimes when I'm just passing through and don't have much time to talk just to read about interesting issues.
Yes I do , not always , but if the title is lame or boring I might skip it. Lots of threads go off topic and become really good. See Live Jasmine
Now I feel some damn impulse to go around one-starring threads. If only I didn't have to live in the basement.
Do guests visiting the site get to vote on thread ratings? If so you are going to have a tough time narrowing it down.
Crazy thought: Ignore the star ratings. They've never carried any weight with me. Some guy has a bad day or maybe disagrees with the original poster? ONE STAR. They don't mean jack.
I usually look at the title of a thread before deciding to post a comment. The ratting are sometimes on nonsense threads that if you read them fully; usually change in mid flight into another discussion and or a complete topic change, either by natural process or a troll trying to get everybody’s goat. Hey;we should all get a star for a job well done!
DBJ I don't see how awarding 1 star to a thread makes you a troll? When I troll threads I usually give them 5 stars to ensure the max hits.
I think the 1 star thing is annoying, troll or no troll. Maybe we should have various stages of erectile function to delineate a good thread. At least then we could get a laugh out of it.
Winston, I have no problem with someone giving out one star...PLENTY of threads are worthy. What I do take issue with is when I checked the forum this morning, every thread on the front page had one star (expect those with multiple votes, and each of those clearly had a least one one-star vote). It's forum terrorism. We need to find the evil-doers...smoke 'em out of their holes...and bring 'em to justice. DbJ
