what I dont understand is people think that the 25th pick will automatically start. I will get picks in the 20's the last 5 yrs. I bet less than half started(we got lucky last yr)

Everybody always wants to trade down. The problem is trying to find anybody willing to trade up.

Very good post, I agree with you totally. If you have no pass rush, it really doesn't matter who your cb's are. Even the best cover corners can only cover for so long. I really want to go DT round 1 but the problem is no one with value will be at our pick. Do we consider giving up multiple picks to move up for a guy link branch or okoye? Do we give up later picks for Kris Jenkins?

We would have to give up all of our first day picks to move up for okoye. So that won't happen. The only way I see us moving up is in a trade that includes a player and our first pick. Much more likely that we would move down.

Why do you want okoye, he?s a typical 4-3 DT, we could only use him as a End, but he got much more valuve for a 43 team, than for us. He?ll only be average in our D probably not even a starter, but he could be a heck of a DT for a 43 D.

I can?t see us trading up, for anyone else but CJ, and it looks like, we would have to give up way too much for him.

All our picks this year and our first and second from next year still wouldn't be enough to move up that far assuming he's the number 1 pick based on the point system.

But Vilma, Coles, and our 1st should be enough to get to 4 + getting Tampa?s second round pick 36th overall if he will last that long and Tampa is willing to do the trade (which i doubt) i?m sure our FO is going to think about that one for a minute.

I agree. Adding players changes it totally. Of course if they have signing bonuses what ever is left accelerates to this year if we trade them. It would probably be too expensive to trade them both but it's possible we may trade one of them.

Tampa will not trade the 4 under any circumstances until Calvin Johnson is off the board.

The teams that might trade down right now are Detroit on the 2 and Washington on the 6 and both trades would be prohibitively expensive.

Plus, Vilma and 25 should be enough to get to 4.

The number 4 overall is worth 1800 points.

The 25 overall is worth 720 points.

the 14 Overall is worth 1100, and there is no reasonable argument to be made that Vilma is not worth more than the 14th overall pick.

Of course there is. He's 3 or 4 years older. Nobody gets traded for a first round pick yet you are setting his value at a mid level first. Never happen.

Vilma is a mid level first round pick.

With three years in the NFL, in the defense that Tampa Runs, and excels in it. its not like hes 30. The kid is 25 years old...

Plus thats a need for Tampa. Both MLB Quarels (sp?) and OLB Brooks are 11 and 12 year vets...

Ok, for arguments sake name me anybody in the last 5 years at even a skill position who has been traded for a first. Don't include Abraham, Atlanta was in love with him.

He'll be good, but I just don't think he'll be on the board when we pick in the second round...
