Why exactly would Jones get in a "dither"? He's already been paid.

we wont get turner, but if we could have got him before tj for a second round pick i think he might of been a been a better aquisition...I mean dont get me wrong theres no one more happy then me about getting tj and he does have the advantage over turner with experence, but turner is three years younger and when he has gotten his oppertunities he has taken more then full advantage of them...although turner is not completely proven i would have to of said he would and will be an amazing back somewhere else. But with leon and tj in the backfield i think we have one of the best back combos going into the season...I just worry that tj will be done in the next 4 years, but for now tj will dominate the compitition with the complements of leon!

Turner would have kicked ass a while ago, but I doubt this is true.

I doubt its even true that the Chargers are still asking for a first and a third. Every other report before this said they have lowered their demands.

    This story is buuuuuullllll.

*Controversy starter* That said, I'd take Turner over Thomas for the same deal any day of the week.

first off, calm down, it probably wont happen. IF it did happen though, i wouldnt complain..i love Leon as much as the next guy, dont get me wrong, i love small backs (i used to be one) and i give them all the credit but a Thomas Jones, Burner Turner Combo would be much more potent than a Thomas Jones, Neon Leon combo. Turner is a starting back stuck behind the best back in the league and maybe all time. i wouldnt object to this trade at all because if you look at it objectively, it is a complete upgrade but not for the price it would cost. a first and third wouldnt work out.. just my two cents

I have no problem with them trying to drive the price up. In reality though there is no chance they get him. Jones had over 1,200 yards last year and Leon had over 600. Thats going to be a very good 1-2 combo, 180 degree difference from last season.

    1) No one is giving up a first round pick for any running back in the league except maybe Tomlinson.
    2) The Jets no longer have a need for a RB.
    3) Turner has not proven himself an every down back.
    4) San Diego is pushing info to the newspapers to try and raise the value or Turner so that they can get more in a trade.
    5) The Jets may have inquired, who cares? Any time a player is available you owe it to yourself to check out what the other team is looking for.
    6) end of discussion...

    I guess the Jets think.....

I have no clue what they are thinking here.

It would be idiotic to trade Thomas Jones. Since he will be a 7 mil cap hit if we trade him. Mys well keep him for the 2.65 mil. If they are going to trade a Rb it would be Houston or washington. But Jones and Turner wouldnt help the team at all. I rather have Jones and Washington. put the money somewhere else

maybe they are thinking of fantasy football, you can never have too many rb's.

I guess SD is just adding teams to make it look like Turner has more value than he really does. They wont get a 1 and a 3 for him. I actually doubt they will get a 1. Noone stepped to the plate for Edge and Alexander 2 years ago. I cant remember when anyone traded a 1 for a RB.

Wow. We HAVE shown interest, but not anymore. We have shown it in the past, but now that we have Jones, we don't have any.

they're just trying to show interest.. we were interested so the statement is still truthful.. there is almost NO way the FO would show up Jones like that, look at those guns...

    turner turner turner

when will san diego realize that they are asking too much for running back that has never started.he has always been a backup to tomlinson. guaranteed that they come down in their asking price.the draft is next month.so if any team is interested in turner.it would have to be a contending team in need of a running back.the jets signed thomas jones so they are out of the picture.

I love Leon, but what if the Jet interest was in trading Leon and say a third to San Diego for Turner. Not a trade I would do, I think Leon is the next Tiki.

    However....

This might make sense. We would have 2 awesome running backs in Jones and Turner both of whom are used to sharing carries. We could really wear out defenses at the end of games with those 2. On the San Diego side, they fill the hole at RB they would be missing with Leon as backup and could also use Leon in 3rd down situations. They would get a lot back in a trade and might like the trade, since they will lose Turner anyway next year and the other suitors would not provide a backup RB for SD.

That would be the only way I could see it happening, and there is a small chance of that being a realistic possibility. No chance for picks of Jones, though.

The cap hit would be 12M, since that's his guaranteed money, or split in 1/2 for 2 seasons.

This is PURE media being the media. Jets showed interest in February... then they got Jones, and guess what.. interest has gone byebye... but the media is counting them because they did show interest at 1 time.

I never realized how talented the Cowboys are, but when I saw that rumor it hit me.

Ware, Romo, Carpenter, Spears, Canty, etc etc and so on

They certainly wouldn't be trying to get Turner and keep Jones. Turner expects and will get starter money, not backup money. He did average 6.3 YPC last year with over 500 yards total. Everybody says he's only been a backup but that's a meaningless statement when you look at who is in front of him.
