Really? If so that would be sweet! One of these guys has to emerge as a pretty good player, and if many do...trading chips.
close enough, its scout.com By TFY Draft Preview Posted Mar 27, 2007 One of the few pass rushers left in free agency is now off the market. Former Miami Dolphin DE David Bowens has signed a three-year contract with the New York Jets. Bowens was being courted by the Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots and the Jets. Miami was offering a one year deal worth $1.5-million to keep Bowens, who wanted a long term deal. Bowens signed today with the Jets for $6.1-million over three years. The deal includes a guarantee of $700,000 the first year and incentive clauses which can add an additional $2-million to the contract. Bowens is excited to reunite with coach Jim Herrmann, the Jets' linebacker coach. Hermann spent 20 years as the defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan, where he coached Bowens.
This is such a great signing. Now in the draft I would look to sure up the offensive line and get a good cornerback with our first 3 picks. Something like: Possibility A: 1. Darrelle Revis 2. Josh Beekman 3. Manuel Ramirez (I like this one) Possibility B: 1. Justin Blalock 2. Josh Beekman 3. Josh Wilson
Yeah I am pretty sure that is how Mangini sees him. You don't pay that much for a backup. He will probably replace Barton, moving Hobson inside.
ugh...I was not crazy about him. If nothing else we are going to have a tremendous amount of competition at DE. Kimo should be worried.
I read somewhere he was a LB in college. He will be able to make the transition to 34 OLB no problem I assume.
Yeah he played DE in a 4-3 in Miami. He will play OLB in our 3-4. I don't think he has played OLB ever, but neither had Bryan Thomas before last year.
How much better would he honestly be then Barton? You people honestly need to stop taking the grass is greener on the other side of the fence approach........
