Jets | A Week is 7 days Long Wed, 21 Mar 2007 20:00:05 -0700 Rich Cimini, reporting for the Sporting News, has announced that a week will last 7 days. Details have not been disclosed.
This has got to be one of the most ignorant posts I have seen in a while. If we can't stop the run or rush the passer, we will never take it a step further in the playoffs regardless of who we have on offense. If the opponent is able to constantly run down the ball down our throats, the offense won't even get a chance to be on the field. I don't know why you are even looking at points allowed, you should be looing at yards allowed. If you are giving up a lot of yards that is just as bad because it means you cannot score yourself. If you think the offense is holding us back, you are completely misguided, it is our inability to stop the run compounded by the fact that we cant rush the pass either.
Hardly. We cant keep our own defense off the field...And when we do, we still cant do anything with it. Maybe...and I'm going out on a limb here, but maybe if we could get the 8th guy out of the box, and rush for more than 3.5 a carry (NExt to dead last in the entire league...), MAYBE...Just MAYBE...the defense would have a little bit left in the tank for the fourth quarter Going one step further here's an interesting chart. http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/OFF-SCORING/2006/regular?sort_col_1=3 scoring offense. We score 19 a game. Now look at all the teams above 24...what do they have in common? Odd isn't it.
Its not about if he can do the job. Jmac wants to start he has said that in the past.its not gonna happen here. i wouldnt be surprised if him and his agent asked out behind scenes. his agent is positive that the jets will trade him.
Funny how guys are arguing about which side of the ball needed to get upgraded, the fact is that BOTH sides of the ball needed significant upgrades. The offense was horrid last year and much of the defense was smoke and mirrors along with a weak schedule. Gotta go best available player in late April. The great thing about having such crappy talent is that any pick is truely a potential upgrade. (This excuses the following .. LT, C, K, P, S.)
Huh? McCareins was horrible last year, not only that he's a lazy as heck. How many balls did he catch for us last season? 20+?
You are absolutely right. Furthermore, if we put dwight or smith on the filed we might find out if they can be that third option that chad needs.
I like Engram the best on that list...he did a great job of filling in when Seattle's receivers went down last year, and continued to produce even after they came back. He was hurt for a while though last year, but that could just end up making him affordable...I see him as a rich man's dwight. So my ideal mock receiver corps is: 1 and 2) C & C Touchdown Factory 3) Hackett 4) Smith 5) Young guy or one of our leftovers (preferably draft pick with potential-UCF dude?)
Pick up Antonio Bryant out of all of those wr's in the list he is obviosly the most talented and i dont really see any other place he might wanna go that is better than us .Still very young at 26 which he just turned this month.
