I believe the deal is $1.5 million per year for 3 years. I could be wrong, but I think that's what I read this morning. I think Clement likes and prefers playing here in NY and probably weighed the negatives of going somewhere else where he's in uncomfortable surroundings with different players and coaches and, after shopping for more money, decided not to push his luck and to take Tanny's offer. I don't read anything else into that at all. The man wants to be here and finish out his career here. He figures he can contribute here and maybe even get to the championship before he retires. All of this doesn't necessarily mean that he's the ugly duckling of the NFL.
Cmon now U really do not believe what U posted now do U? Money talks & NO other NFL team after watching tape offered him a red cent except US. Just take Cato left the SB CHAMPIONs to sign with the Bucs for you know what! I hope the FO/CS will now not say well that position is now taken care of & start a player maybe if graded against the other 31 teams player would be in the bottom 10 maybe even the bottom 5 or so. This is normal SOP for us thru the years & years & years which is why we have won zero for 38 years
I like the fact that we have our whole O-line coming back intact, that's a huge plus. Not to mention that we have the same OC and offense overall, there should be some improvement. The second time around anything is always much easier, less learning needed this time and more progress.
Because we had a Very bad Coach that was Loyal to unproductive veterans and did not allow him to play. Good Players get stuck in bad situations. Cotchery sat on that same bench with him for no good reason and he was the best receiver on the Team for the last two years. This time last year the whole board was saying we had no receivers until we got a coach in there who actually played the best one on the team. The same applys for Baker. 31 Teams passed on Baker because they did not get a chance to see him play. If Herm was still the coach and Cotchery was a FA they would have done the same thing for him this year.
There is a body at this position until they can upgrade via the draft or some vet getting cut before the season. If they can't then that is a spot that will be fixed during this rebuilding process.
I think you are rationalizing away the best way you can for us resigning 2 players that 31 other teams would not offer them a red cent to sorry to say. Actually I do not think U actually believe what U posted also. In the end it makes no difference since we are not included in the decision making process IMHO to me it =s another season of NOT being WORLD CHAMPIONs
Do you think any Gm has done a good or decent job with the Jets Personnel since we last won a Championship?
What U posted is exactly what I mean which is why we are what we are for the last 38 years. That thought process U outline is why we will continue year after year after year to be rebuilding. Just remember that the last time we were WORLD CHAMPIONs was on 01/12/69
You're basing your whole premise around the idea that nobody else offered anything. How do you know that? Maybe he liked NY, liked the team, maybe other teams offered less. Maybe he didn't want to move his family, all kinds of variables. So in essence, you have no foundation for your argument unless you have been in the room with all 32 teams. Last I heard they aren't doing the deals in Austin, TX, so to me that's doubtful.
I've heard. Luckily we have a master of the obvious among us to keep reminding us of the one fact he can get right.
A deal that almost got done or didn't get done isn't often reported. You don't know what goes on behind the scenes, stuff typically gets reported when it's done.
Im defending Baker. Clements is just a body that has to be replaced before we get a team that can contend. You are wrong about Baker.
Historical fact which makes it undeniable & also very, very true. Just like Woody is now 0-7 in bringing a SB champion to the NYJ fans & AG was 0-1 & Herm was 0-5 & Man is now 0-1 all also historical facts so no matter how you attempt to wash them away you cannot cause just like the Cards & Lions in the last 38 years we have won NOTHING & sorry to say I see another losing season on the horizon in 07 & 08 & 09 also. Maybe in 2010 we will have gotten super lucky with our draft choices not like in the past & by then U may see some progress. However, OTH if we wind up with more draft flops which is also a historical fact then it will be even later then 2010
Believe what U like. Like I said at his position he would be graded out in the lower 10 of the starting players at his position. So if U think that is good super for U sorry I do not & I will repeat myself again signing non quality players is why we are what we are for the last 38 years
