"we gave up 2 tds or less than in 7 of our last 8 games."

Pretty sure we gave up 1 TD or less in 7 of the 8, the Pats 14 came from 2 FG and an 8pt TD, no?

Some good info in this thread hydro. It's good to hear that Vilma, in fact, not on the block. I swear, just get good personnel around the man and I think he's going to deliver.

I'm also warming to the idea of Posluszny as ILB if Barton's really on the block and if the team feels as if Hobson's good enough at OLB, or want to pursue that later in the draft.

Just because the Pats signed Thomas doesn't mean they won't go after one of the LB's. They know we need LB's and they pick right before us. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Willis or Posluszny right before we pick.

How is he over estimating Barton? There have been several rumors about Barton being shopped recently.

Well hopefully its Posluszny . cause i think Willis will be the best linebacker in this draft when its all said and done. Him and Vilma in the middle would be great. especially if we can protect them with a True NT.

There have been players traded on other teams that are a lot worse than Barton has been so it is not out of the realm of possibilities.

This is great news. I couldn't see Mangini earning a nickname like Mangenius if he was going to trade a diamond in the rough like Vilma.
Average-Good players must be incorporated into a system that works best for them and their style.
Elite players, which I believe Vilma is just now on the threshhold of becoming, make adjustments to the system and rise to the occasion.

Yes you are right. Wow, all I can say is wow. Our defense was solid after the bye week. Vilma played better, but D-Rob is the reason this defense was so much better. He was a monster.
I have faith in Mangini, and I have faith in Vilma, they'll get it right.

I'm surprised someone hasn't said this but....the majority of those teams suck offensively...and I know the Bears are the World Champs...

There's no monster NT that could fall to us at 25? I know people will disagree but I still think that would make the greatest difference in our D. We can get a CB slightly further down the line.

The only guy would be Branch and he will most likely be long gone. Other than that there's noone I would feel safe drafting to take that position. We may as well stick with Dewayne.

Seriously...I'd take Willis in a second if we get rid of Barton, but not Poz...I am predicting right now that he dosn't even get picked until the second round...and wouldn't the 25th pick cost around what Barton is making. I just don't see us drafting an ILB when we have so many needs. CB or OLB or OL are the top three needs that can be satisfied with #25.
