Is it an ommission or did he get singned?
Their current team has a right to match but I think these guys would come cheaper than the UFAs. Also, most of these guys are younger as they are still under their rookie contract.
Baltimore..............Moore, Clarence....WR........Northern Arizona.........6th guy is 6'6 would be a very good goalline weapon.
N.Y. Jets..............Spencer, Cody......LB.........North Texas................6th Who the heck is that?
Guys that are worth looking at for the Jets: Turner Bobby McCray - I actually like this guys potential as a 3-4 OLB. He's 6'6, extremely athletic, fast, and powerful. Jacob Bell/Stacy Andrews/Locklear Drew Carter Randy Starks and Jordan Carstens Micheal Gaines Wheres Tommy Kelly on this list? With him/Starks/Coleman there are three young guys who can be had as legit ends for us. McCray is the guy to watch, he's a sick young player. And these are just guys of interest, so please no one say something like "OMG, we can't all these guys." Thats not what I'm saying.
did you even look at the comp.. are you really giving up a 2nd rd pick for drew carter? i like him he is big and fast but he is hurt alot.
1. You can work out a trade. It wouldn't be breaking any kind of precedents, even though people seem to forget these things. 2. Carter is like any other guy on the list, a name that intrigued me and potentially fit for the Jets. He's the luxury guy on that list, our WRs are not really a problem for me.
Sean Ryan on the block , could this mean we are picking up another TE or FB , Brian Leonard? Fits the Mangini criteria , smart multi tasker.......
I'm suprised at the lack of talk about RFAs on this site, and everywhere in general. Theres quite a few guys who would be good players here who are still young. I guess compensation holds alot of teams back, but teams have worked around that for like...forever.
The lak of talk about RFAs is exactly why we should be talking about them. RFA is the real value in free agency. The trick is to come up with a contract bad enough for the other team not to match but good enough for you to live with. Curtis Martin is a great example of how difficult it is to do this right. Martin was one of the best players to ever wear a Jets uniform but he was overpaid by a couple million per year at the same time. RFA is a game of chicken that most GMs are too lazy to get into.
Could not agree more. Who here WOULDN'T give up a 3rd for Randy Starks? Or a 6th for a decent NT prospect? It's going to be very interesting to see what the Jets do with this. It's all a bunch of young guys with serious potential. Theres so much more potential for foward progress here than in this UFA class (not saying ignore the UFAs).
