Michael Turner. We can get him. Or we make a run at Thomas Jones or Cedric Benson......I don't think the Bears love 'em both.....or Ricky Williams.....Ladell Betts still......

Henry's fills void in Broncos' backfield

Filling their need for a proven tailback, the Denver Broncos on Monday reached a contract agreement with Travis Henry, who was released on Saturday by the Tenenessee Titans to avoid paying him an $8.3 million roster bonus.

Henry will sign a five-year contract that includes $12 million in guarantees, ESPN.com has learned.

Within hours of his release, Henry flew to Denver and visited with Broncos officials over the weekend, while agent Hadley Engelhard negotiated a deal. Henry also drew considerable interest from the Oakland Raiders, who hoped to bring him in for a visit this week.

Henry, 28, carried 270 times for 1,211 yards and seven touchdowns in 2006, and notched six 100-yard outings. The former University of Tennessee standout spent the first four years of his career with the Buffalo Bills before being traded to the Titans in 2005.

In 78 games, including 62 starts, Henry has carried 1,321 times for 5,395 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also has 134 receptions for 886 yards and two scores. In addition to his 1,000-yard season in 2006, Henry ran for over 1,000 yards in two of his four seasons with the Bills.

Senior writer Len Pasquarelli covers the NFL for ESPN.com.

That's too much money to give a guy who is one strike away. I really like the way Henry runs, but I think 12 million is guaranteed, and that's a bit rich for a guy who might not see the field if he decides he needs to get high.

Duckett is probably going to be the guy at this point, or we're going to have to make a move in the draft.

What are the rules on pay if someone is suspended? Obviously you don't pay that year's salary, but does the player have to return a prorated part of the signing bonus?

Even if there are no general rules on that, the Broncos might have put specific language in the contract relating to that possibility (actually, if they didn't they're pretty stupid).

The more teams that fill gaps at RB in FA, the easier it will be for us to nab an impact RB in the draft.

I'd rather sign one of these RB's and use the draft to upgrade both lines.

it's a long draft. Elite RB talent is ready to go quicker than rookie line talent, as a general rule.
