And NE's stregnth is Up front. You need to over them, not through them. If the Jets go up that far, it's Calvin Johnson.
rogers had character issues, Johnson is a workout warrior, a productive player, and a high character team player. he shows no signs of question that even the top WR"s in the last few years have had. hes got everything going for him. I think hes Moss without the bullshit. plus plays tougher. coles could be concussed into retirement within a yr or two for all we know. a large beast who can also stretch the field? it would only spell further success for our running game and players like coles and cotch who are great after the catch. but i think Johnson is hands down best player in the draft and a once a decade type player as bush was regarded at RB. Adrian Peterson reminds me of eddie george with breakaway speed. that alone says enough, but he also runs upright which might equal a short career. then again you would think someone would coach him on this. if it was vilma and our 1st i prolly wouldnt be against it because like mentioned before it would prove the lack of faith from mangini for vilma to fit the system and wed get a dynasty playmaker.
man i can only imagine what the board is going to be like when we don't get Porter or trade to get CJ or AP...
They should really shut down the whole Internet until May mini-camp. Non-NFL fans will just have to deal, that's all.
Let me get this straight - Coles, Vilma and picks for the #2? That's asinine. I'd be shocked if the Jets did that...
I agree, but there is no need to throw Coles in the deal. As much as we all love Vilma, and how great he's been as a Jet, on and off the field, the fact is that he struggles in the new defense. I hate to say it, but they won't have a tough time replacing Vilma if they did send him to Detroit.
how far up can we go up for #25 and #37 ? The Skins pick was a gift, and maybe we can use it to target a player.
Based on the Jets backseat approach to FA, it seems as if they will look to fill all needs (NT/OG/RT/CB/RB/OLB/FB) through the draft. Therefore, the organization is in no position to trade multiple picks to move up.
So how come others had quite good season un the 3-4 & JV with 17 weeks of games & coaching was the same in game 1 as he was in game 16?
The 25 and the 37 buy you the 12 in the standard NFL draft pick value chart. Throw in the 57 and you climb almost to the 6 pick. Brady Quinn is very likely to be there on the 6 pick.
I can't see how we'd part with that much talent simply to draft Brady Quinn... what would Tannenbaum say to Kellen Clemens? "sorry, we thought you were starter quality 2 years ago, but not anymore", then trade him for some low round draft pick? Trade up only for skill position players, something this team needs in order to surpass the New England Gaytriots
Wait a minute!!! What happened to all the people saying RB's were "a dime a Dozen"?? Maybe not you 10penny but it shows how FOS some posters are. They're even willing to sell out on Vilma for an Unproven Pick. That IS Ridiculous!!
