RB Dillon narrows choices down to three teams Written by: ? 3/4/2007 Source: www.carrollcountytimes.com Meanwhile, the agent for running back Corey Dillon has narrowed the list of teams he's interested to Baltimore, the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets. Dillon, 32, could represent a potential fallback option for Baltimore if negotiations unravel with Lewis' agent, Mitch Frankel.
dillon can be interested all he wants but if the jets arent then yeah, i guess he has 2 options...good find.
So id imagine the Ravens would be on the botton of the list if they want him to play fullback for them.
I would love to give Dillon a short contract and put him next to Leon Washington. Despite being 32 he split carries last year and is still a pretty serviceable RB especially next to Leon Washington. This would be a great signing in my opinion.q
Why not use one of our second round picks to draft a running with a future in this league? Can someone tell me why we would sign Corey "OLd Man" Dillion when we have 2 second round picks that we could use to draft a feature running back? Please answer this question.
If he is garbage why did he run so well against us: 1st Game: 20 carries 80 yards 4.0 ypc 2nd Game: 11 carries 98 yards 8.9 ypc Playoff game: 10 carries 53 yards 5.3 ypc If he is garbage what does that make our defense.
But the point is that if he was "garbage" he wouldn't be able to destroy our defense no matter how bad he is. He must have some skills left in him if he is able to play that well. I'm not saying that he's a great option but I do believe that if our FO doesn't think we can get a good running back in the second round he would be a good option if he is willing to sign a one or maybe two year deal.
I'd prefer to sign TJ Duckett or Chris Brown to split some carries with Leon Washington. These guys are both young and have some great years ahead of them. Another guy to look at, Anthony Thomas. He's still young (drafted in 01') and is a power back. He looked pretty good in Buffalo last season. I wouldn't mind having Washington/Thomas/Houston at all.
I hope we stay away from TJ Duckett and Chris Brown. TJ Duckett is very overrated even in short yardage situations. He is not a good RB at all and would probably turn out to be similar to Barlow. Chris Brown is intriguing at first but he is so injury prone that it is not even worth signing him. Anthony Thomas is actually not a bad idea. I'm guessing he's a UFA because you mentioned him but he played pretty well when McGahee was out for the Bills.
i want no parts of dillion at all. Not even a one year deal - it stunts the growth of our future backs..
if we get corey dillon ill start a riot. we need a future running back. we shud either draft one or trade for micheal turner or if all else fails trade for thomas jones and get a solid 3 years out of him
Wtf are the jets not going after Jones for? Corey Dillon is finished. This is the same guy who was whining in NE because he did not think 8 - 10 carries was enough. I can just see how he acts when he faces some adversity with the jets. He was grumpy on a team that went all the way to the afc championship. Granted I can see ago not wanting him to be second fiddle to Maroney.
