JETS CONSIDERING A TRADE UP? We're hearing that the New York Jets are considering an effort to trade up from the No. 25 spot in round one to the top of the draft. The Jets would like to get in position to draft either receiver Calvin Johnson or running back Adrian Peterson. To ensure that they'll get either guy, the Jets likely would have to land no lower than No. 3. http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm
There's a lot of talk other places of a crazy deal with the Skins. Is AP really worth 3 picks? 2 and Vilma? Honost question.
actually its funny becauase...typically Id be all for it...but this year Im not feeling it for either of those two...I understand calvin is a stud but do we need a receiver that bad to mortgage basically the rest of our draft which is what I would think wed have to give up...as far as adrian, (shrug) I dunno.not thrilled. Ill trade up and grab a stud D-lineman though....although I am aware of the dewayne debacle
Using this draft value chart, http://www.theredzone.org/2006/draft/draftvaluechart.asp, trading up would to 3 would cost our entire draft and then we'd still owe them!
I don't believe any draft reports up until the few days leading to the draft. Everything before that is either premature, speculation, or a smokescreen.
this is probably the dumbest rumor i've ever heard. trade up to get a top 3 pick would cost us like 3-4 late 1st round picks. trade up to get calvin johnson? thats just so retarded we dont even have to talk about it. unbelievable
There is only a slim chance that Peterson or Johnson would last until the Redskins pick. So, that traded wouldn't take place until Arizona makes their pick on draft day.
I dont know if I buy this. I dont really know why they would get Johnson. Yes he will probably be the best WR in the league pretty quickly but we have two good ones. Unless they dump Coles off I dont see the sense. As for Peterson he would be nice but seems like too much to give up to get him. I dont know it seems really early to talk trading up.
We do not have the value to trade up to the 3 unless we start bundling future draft picks. No way at all that the Jets do that. So I call bullshit on the entire PFT topic.
This must be a smokescrean. All the holes and we can't stop the run? We would only move up to take a guy like Branch. This is BS. Too many holes to fill.
