That may actually make sense, then they could draft Calvin Johnson to replace Moss

It makes perfect sense for both teams if Oakland does indeed pick Calvin Johnson #1 overall

Wow, this trade makes more sense than any other I've seen this offseason. I'm impressed. This really benefits both sides.

Green Bay gets an immediate big-time playmaker for Brett Favre
Oakland gets a young QB that is basically a rookie in terms of playing time, but has gotten to learn behind the best. Plus they can take Calvin Johnson at #1...

Wow pretty ironic that the only team that loses in this deal is TB and they are not even directly involved..

Yeah that's true. They do get screwed...

Then again, they don't really need a WR that badly. They could really use a Gaines Adams or Alan Branch...

TB needs offensive help desperately & CJ is all but signed, sealed & delivered there. Unless this trade takes place.

If this deal happens, I think GB gets 10 wins next year in the NFC.

wow what a great deal that would be for both teams...although i'm not sure who green bay will have to fill in for brett favre when he inevitably retires, however far away that day is

Would this really be a good deal for Green Bay? Favre is in what should be his last season (should have actually been 2 season ago) and they'll be without a back-up QB. That is, unless Quinn or Russell falls but that's a big risk for the Pack.

I don't know, I really don't think Rodgers will be a much better QB than Walter. If Walter gets the right coaching, I think he can be decent, and I don't think Rodgers is much more than that.

If I'm Oakland, I'd want a 1st day pick as well.

Raiders asked for a first rounder and packers counter with Rodgers. With rumors that jaguars and patiots are also in the running for Moss, that only makes it better for raiders.(more teams competing and you might get what your looking for)
Even if raiders were to do a rodgers deal( which im having a hard time believing since AL Davis has been on record- saying he felt Andrew Walter was the best Qb in that draft-) It would have no bearing whether Raiders took a Qb with first pick in draft. Raiders only have andrew Walter on the roster and they need at least two more QBs Both Rodgers and andrew Walter are not making much and they can easily afford Jamarcus russell. Raiders could always trade a Walter or Rodgers down the road.

If raiders did a deal like that it would be purely finacial. It offers the opportunity to unload Moss and his $9.75 million salary cap figure in exchange for Rodgers' salaries of $505,000, $680,000 and $800,000 over the next three years.

Only the Raiders would trade a WR for a Qb than still draft the most overrated Qb in years while bypassing the best WR prospect in at least the last 10 years..

Definately makes sense, especially for the Packers. They get a WR who pretty much only wants to win, along with a QB who thinks the same way. (I know, people are gonna say Moss is a "me" guy, but I think he only gets that way when the team is doing poorly)
Then they take Marshawn Lynch in the first, and their offense is immediately upgraded big time.
Throw in someone like Drew Stanton in the second round to be Favre's heir and they've got a nice plan

Okay If you were able to Watch game film on Jamarcus russell they would tell you how wrong you are. Jamarcus russell not only has the best arm in football but is extremely accurate. Has great touch . There alot of film,Of Russell , making throws in tightcoverage that just make you say wow.

What do arizona, detriot lions and Raiders have in common. Their strength on offense is in there Wrs. Where are those teams drafting in this draft.
No matter how great a Wr is, hes still depended on someone getting him the ball. You find a Great QB and you are most likely a playoff team for the lifetime of that Qb career.
You have a great Wr and you still coukld be a horrible team.
Also The strength of this draft is the Wrs. You more likely able to find a Wr later than you are a QB.

How is it retarded that your loading up on the most important position on odffense- Qb. Again Walter (third rounder) and rodgers salary the next three years is very very cap friendly. Raiders three Qbs would be alot cheaper than most teams three Qbs on their roster. Walter or rodgers prove themselve than you have a very nice chip to use in a trade. (See matt Schaub)
Jamarcus russell just too good to pass up.

rofl they need all sorts of help. Mark Clayton looked like a top 10 WR his rookie year and has pulled a vanishing act ever since. Galloway at his age is still their best reciever and manages to still be productive. the OL started as many as 3 rookies sometimes.

their D is screwed too. no replacement ready for ronde, or brooks.

the teams in bad shape but they have good players to build around

they just might get themselves a qb. if OAK goes Johnson at one. quinn or russell could possibly fall to the bucs.

they like simms, but the honeymoon is over here and fans are getting impatient.

either way they have alot of holes to fill, if anything they draft gaines adams to replace rice.
