Since the Super Bowl is over, and there is still a good month and a half until Draft talks heat up, I was thinking the other day who will the Jets play opening day. Usually they put teams against each other whov had similar records/seasons the previous year. This year the Jets played the Titans both teams were bad the year before. Giants/Colts is the opposite. My guess is home vs KC, both made the playoffs good storyline with Herm coming back to NY. What does everyone else think?
Give us the Colts, @ Indy. Instead of having to wait for a contender to prove ourself during the season, give us the champs (away) on opening day. If we beat them, we know we've got a good thing going. If we lose, we know we've got to improve (and we'll have 15 games left to do so). Or just give us the PAts, home or away, and let's get round 1 over with early.
Or they'll give all the marquee games to everyone else and leave us with a random team like Cleveland. But my bet is the Herminator game.
I'd like KC because it would give our run defense a really good test early in the season and oh if there was anything we learned in 5 years of Herm it's that his teams are always unprepared in September.
ill take my chances with hermie i had a customer come in today that was a KC fan...i had to ask what he thought about his new head coach, he said he liked him from what he saw....but he thought his OC had to go....i laughed and explained the the wonder of herm and the appalling offense....poor guy had no idea
I think they'll put Indy against San Diego since those are the top 2 picks for next year. I think the Jets will play at home vs. New England, which is good for one reason: Whatever changes the Jets make to their offense or defense, Belichick won't have as much game film to review.
maybe home against Phili? or do we play a AFC team first week, im not sure. I do recall we played Kansas City a few years back week 1 i dont know if theyed do it again. Nice to get Philly in here with out D-Nabb
I think it's our turn to host a Week 1 game this year. The Giants have a significant edge over us in Week 1 Home Openers, but we've been starting on the road the last 2 seasons, so it's time...I hope.
