It is said that the jets and giants have intrest in him to replace tiki and c-mart, this would be good cause last year the colts werent willing to part with a first day pick for him, Id rather trade a third or 2nd for him then to trade a 1st for turner.

Jones is my favourite player in the NFL that is not on the Jets, he is quite a bit older than Turner, I do not endorse Turner as my future starter but Jones would only fill the hole for a few years. I would still like Jones for our late 2nd or 3rd pick as opposed to a high draft choice or trading a 1 for Turner

Outside of the elite, nearly every running back is going to be a "stop gap." Assuming "stop gap" means 2-4 year guy. RBs best years typically top out around 4.

Considering that most people think that RBs make the easiest transition into new offenses teams should get the best available back and then replace him when necessary.

I am not saying that the Jets shouldn't draft a young guy for RB, just that they should add the best available/best value RB possible.

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in T. Jones. I have been a fan of his since he came in with Arizona.

Thomas Jones is with Dallas? I thought he was playing for the Super Bowl bound Chicago Bears...

he is got at least 2-3 left on him and thats all we need. A rbbc of jones, washingon and houston would be very effective. We will also adress the line more this off season(and every off season)

For a 3rd rounder he'd be a great vaule but my question is why would a Super Bowl team trade their starting running back for a late 3rd rounder? It's hard to believe a team like the Giants wouldn't be able to come up with a better offer. Even for our second 2nd round pick I'd consider it but ultimately I think this is just a rumor.

actually thats when he sucked. His 1st good year ever wast last yr. He was too muscular to use any athleticism and moves in his running style which made him an easy target.

hes about half that size now but still ripped. but hes not worth anything above a 3rd rounder.

why you might ask? i dont like the fact it took him about 4-5 yrs to come into his own in the league. He was a top 10 pick with arizona, was injury prone for 3 yrs. got traded to the bucs. played like a one dimmensional north/south runner. and has looked pretty good with the bears, but nothing amazing.

I like Jones and he could be a great RB for a few years for us, but he is 28 so I wouldn't give up anymore than our late 2nd for him.

:rofl2: The look on Brad Johnson's face is priceless. He's like, "What the fuck did I just hand the ball off to?"

Thomas Jones will be a Bear next year... if you think they are going to let him go you are sadly sadly mistaken. Yes, I know they have Benson. But in order to become the starter, you normally need to beat him out of his position, something that doesn't look likely at the moment.
