But you say this as if Glenn is the GM and making the moves, he is not. Glenn was hired before Mougey, Mougey is not tied to him and Glenn will get fired whether he has 3 wins or 6 regardless. The players they signed are not good enough to save his job.
Woody made them a team. It's how Woody designed his org chart until this year so yeah, Glenn and Mougey were joined at the hip until last year's debacle. That evidently is no longer the case and its Glenn's ass that's in the sling, not Mougey. Glenn can save his job, but its going to be difficult.
We just had a very successful organization TRADE assets for Fields when their QB is badly hurt. And this is AFTER he shit the bed here. Last year we had a successful organization make the same offer to him as us. I know it did not work out, and sure this is a knock against Mooge, but this is a fairly small knock. They got a lottery ticket, it didn't work with pretty crap offensive staff we had, we moved on, and collect a 6th in the process. This a knock, but is certainly not screwing up bad.
I agree with this. Getting anything for Fields after that 2025 performance feels like highway robbery.
This just reminds me of the header: "Jets strike gold with Mac and Bowles." I know its not entirely fair, but before I anoint anyone in this organization, I need to see some wins. He seems like a smart guy. I like what he's doing. The trades of Sauce and Quinnen could potentially set the team up for years. I like that he went into the offseason realizing this team could not stop the run. The defense should be much improved. I assume two of the first four picks will address the defense as well. Offensively, he's done OK. I didn't see an avenue for the team to greatly improve the offense, so its tough to hold that against him. I think G or C will be address in the first four picks. Geno is fine. Using the return on Fields to basically cover the cost of Geno was nice. At the end of the day, if the Jets flame out again, he's just another GM of a 7-27 team.
Well, the team is well on it's way to winning the "Offseason Super Bowl." Was listening to SiriusXM NFL channel on the way in today and Solomon Wilcots and Christian Fauria had Michael Ginnitti, co-owner of Spotrac, on air this morning and he literally made a point of talking about how impressed he was the the Jets offseason moves. Mougey certainly seems to be maintaining our "stellar" offseason mantle. Crossing my fingers this translates into a better team. One more comment, Mougey needs...no MUST find a way to draft Malachi Fields. That kid NEEDS to be on the NY Jets. Whatever it takes, that's my WR. Personally, I think he's the best WR in the draft. And, it's not even close. THIS needs to happen. That is all... lol
