Lol amazing post. I agree. 100000%. Geno coming back to save the Jets? Sounds like a terrible plot to some telanovella .

But of we step back. Take a look at reality. It's not a bad move. Shittttttt. Minnesota wanted him. He's a middle of the road QB who can at least bring some sort of competency to the position.

How great will the netflix doc be if geno brings a championship to the Jets? Lol

    You're a clown.
I stopped watching after the first 5.

4 were tipped balls. 1 was thrown with 1 minute left in the first half where his receiver made no attempt at the ball.

    Geno will throw interceptions.

He also had 2 seasons of over 4000 yards. Name jets qbs with a 4000 yard season. Lol. We'll be waiting Dean

Geno was bad for us, but he actually flashed a lot his rookie year before the wheels fell off.

People forget that and they also forget there were a bunch of statistics in his tenure here of how much better he was with Jeremy Kerley vs. without Jeremy Kerley.

We were all pretty happy when they acquired David Nelson to be a part of the receiver group. I mean he wasn’t exactly surrounded by the greatest show on turf.

I know I went a "little" overboard in my rant but...it's really baffling to me how we all have been complaining about getting competent QB play for one, possibly two, years and someone who will mentor a young guy. Everywhere I read, not Jets centric of course, makes the case that Geno Smith IS one of those guys. He's sure as hell a crap ton better than Fields ever will be and, while he was gone, he became an honest to goodness real NFL QB, no thanks to the Jets. That and he's put up better statistical seasons than any Jets QB ever. JSMH some days...

Didn't Geno have Chaz Schilens too, or was Sanchez the only one that had to deal with that shit?

My favorite Geno Smith story was one game against the Patriots on the day my brother in law was getting married in Gloucester Mass. Obviously, all my in laws are entitled Pats fans with small penises. So the game is on during the pre-wedding festivities at a restaurant my bro-in-law ran. The Jets get the game winning field goal lined up at the end of regulation and its short, or shanked or something. But there's a flag on the play, unnecessary roughness on the Pats for pushing someone on the offensive line. With the extra yardage, the re-kick is good and the Jets win! For the rest of the evening I was going around to all my Pats fans relatives and saying things like "you can't PUSH people, this is football. Someone could get hurt or something!" Good times.

I had a lot higher hopes for the punch line based on how that story started.

I was at Radio City on draft night round 2 when we took Geno and he said he was gonna bring a Super Bowl to the Jets. Lets see how that happens, the story comes full circle for him lol

    I'm a clown?

Better than being a fucking moron I guess.

You didn't watch the video if that's what you seen. Or, you don't understand defense, not sure which.

Did Geno throw for 4,000 yards as a NYJ? How did it go at his recent destination with the Raiders? You know, the 17 INT he threw, on this "horrible" team, where he shared no blame apparently.

You really think we have the people in place or the team that will allow for him to have this spectacular season?

    Right. I'm the clown though.

THIS IS THE SAME QB WHO THREW THE BALL TO THE SIDELINES 4th & 5. Most consider to be the worst passer in all of football last year. Was traded away by the team who currently holds the #1 pick in the draft. They ate his contract just to unload him.

Holy shit, say you're optimistic but can we stop acting like people shouldn't have the right to see the writing on the fucking wall after how many years now of being a complete shit stain pro team? It's stupid.

I have a right as a NYJ fan to bitch about a move that makes no fucking sense to me in the grand scheme of things, so take your dumbass attacks somewhere else, especially when you are lying about even watching the video. Go ahead, walk around like the shit makes sense. Whatever gets you through your day. Be blind. Call me names.. All good, fella. All good.

We are in good hands. Shore. Shore.

You’re trying to get 24 TDs/12 INTs and 4,000 yards on 68% completion percentage out of Geno next year behind a good offensive line and what should be a good running game.

That’s approximately what he’s averaged over 17 games the last 4 years. Not sure why you think he’s played lesser ball than that. It’s like you stopped watching football in 2015 and erased everything that’s happened since then.

I don't think he comes close to that here, with his flaws. I get your argument, I'm not braindead. My problem, especially with our team, is that I just don't think this is a Seattle situation that Geno is going to thrive in.

DK Metcalf, JSN, Kenneth Walker, Tyler Lockett, Noah Fant... The OL was average at best, but the talent they had on offense is far more potent than what we have. I just don't see the supporting cast in players and coaching that will allow Geno to look like anything from his days in Seattle. Frank Reich, admittedly, I don't know how good he is. I obviously know of him but haven't followed his offense too closely. So, maybe that is the factor that turns it, but unless that happens. I genuinely don't think this is a good move, unless we are trying to lose still.

I'm going to root for him at the end of the day. I always root for my team, but I can't lie to myself either here. I think that's reasonable too.

The offseason isn't over. We still have the draft and trades. We shall see, right now I just hate the move.

I was about a third of the way through this when I got a sudden memory of that time Geno Smith got cat fished and they leaked his dick pic online.

    Ah the good old days.

It would be interesting to dig up threads
Good gravy. How do I not remember this?

I thought Favre had the only leaked dick pick stories as a Jet?

Another fact, I find interesting about this topic:

Yes, Geno led the NFL in INTs (17) in 2025 for, what most would admit, a dreadful team in the Las Vegas Raiders.

Many darksiders want to bring this up when discussing their disdain and absolute hatred for signing Smith.

Oddly enough, no one brings up in this discussion the QB who led the league in overall turnovers (20) in same said year:

    Sam Darnold.

Thanks for posting the video. There is no way to sugar coat it, Geno played like shit last year. Led the League in picks (and yes a lot of them were bad, though there were a lot of deflections and some long throws on 3d down, basically punts, plus he was pressured some), lowest points scored. It was a bad year for him. Which is why he is available for next to nothing. But the whole Raiders team sucked last year. Coaching on offense was not good either. It's not crazy to think Geno can rebound to have a performance similar to the year before. We need another WR, but other than that our offensive talent is pretty decent. Let's see who else we get.

And more importantly, which available to us QB would have been clearly better than Geno? Particularly when you do not want to spend arm and a a leg in money and assets and get a real QB solution next year. I honestly can't think of many. Yes, there is a chance Geno will stink, but everyone else we can get has the same or worse chance. There is also a chance he will give 4000 yards next year. That would be worth 10+ times of what we are paying him. He has done that twice in last 4 seasons. Plus we are going to get another QB too. I completely understand you look at last year and you want better. But there isn't anything better, that's the sad reality.

Yeah Geno Smith threw 17 INTS last year

    Justin Fields threw only 1

who’s better though? Use your brains, not an AI chat bot
