I have to believe that whole thing was a farce. If Burrow WAS available, what team could match the Jets in terms of Draft Capital?

If it makes you feel any better, there probably was Less than a 10% chance of it happening anyway and now we don’t have to give up multiple first round draft picks for a guy who can’t stay healthy and is going to command a gigantic contract next year.

Why would he do that? One more shit season and we'll probably lose Breece (who we are paying $14.3 mil). Tippmann is in a contract year. He could bounce. For what?

These texts just in from my rabid Jets fan friend, Vinny:

"Only the Jets who had the most pathetic season and ended up with the second pick in a one QB draft would go out and get the one QB that lead their team to the one spot higher in the draft. What a joke."

    And . . .

"It’s like we needed an offensive minded coach, so let’s go get Adam Gase, a buffoon who just got fired by a division opponent for extreme incompetence. "

I would say the man is on fire this day. And that's a DNA helix, LMFAO.

Edit: Rats. The DNA helix didn't copy and paste. It looked like it was there before I hit submit. Oh, well, it's the thought that counts.

The real issue is that the culture has to change. Making the playoffs may be a pipedream, but we need to start up trending and build from there. I think with Gino and hopefully some wise draft choices that we can improve to win between 5 and 8 games. We have tanked on and off for at least ten years now. We cant even tank right as we never end up with the # 1 overall pick anyways. Tanking is NOT the way to go.

Somebody not named Mendoza will also end up being a very good QB from this draft. The issue is to find that guy. If the Jets believe that guy is Simpson, just get him at # 16 because I do not believe he will still be there at # 33. Maybe it is Beck or Allar or somebody else. It is about freakin time our scouts did something right. We do not have to wait to draft our franchise QB. Just find the right guy.

Oh, my God, no question Burrow gets hit by a NJ Transit train at The New Dump. Not even in uniform or anything, it's his first day after partying last night in NYC and he's still drunk. Nice knowin' ya, Joe Cool.

Analyze it as much as you want. The optics of washed out Geno coming back to the JETS is just bad. The SOJ jokes are going to write themselves....

They are kind of bad and the jokes are unfortunately way too easy for the whole "lol Jets" thing. But I'm glad that didn't let them stand in the way of making this move, because when you get past all that history and garbage, the move actually makes good sense IMO

Even if Geno was our backup, getting a player with his experience on a contract this cheap is a big win. Would you rather have Tyrod Taylor instead?

What else are we going to do? Start Justin Fields? Start Jacoby Brissett lmao, start Kyler Murrary, who BTW wants a real HC/OC, or sign Malik Willis who is totally unproven. Until you draft a real QB, this is not an answer. It's just comical because he was once a Jet and got punched in the face and then left the team, that's why people are mad... But in reality, it's the best signing for our situation. THey will be drafting Ty Simpson, Nussimer or Carson Beck too..

At the end of the day, players want to win, as you said, no GM or HC wants to put a garbage product on the field, we already saw how that worked out for jets CS last year.

No way Jets are going to tank next year if they can help it, Glenn will try to win as many games as possible and not worry about a franchise QB in the draft and sell it to Woody that the turnaround is taking place.

They literally may have to trade up next year to get a legit QB if they win 6-7 games this season.

This is a no win situation for the CS and Woody, if they suck they are fired, if they do decent they don’t have a shot at top QB in draft.

As much as I would like to think this, we root for the Jets, they do wild and unpredictable things in the draft.

No, they have offset clause. Whatever is getting paid on the market gets subtracted from what the Raiders pay him. Geno is no dummy, he would not have signed if he knew he could get more.

But I found out he actually gets paid an extra mil more than if he were cut with the Jets paying him extra mil due to the restructure. That's the part that didn't quite add up for me before - why would Geno restructure with us now and not wait for later when he might have another option (if not financial then destination wise). Or if he was set to come here, just wait.

But now with that extra million everything makes sense. Geno got extra mil vs being cut, giving him incentive vs being cut and picked up by another team, at which point restructure cannot be done. Raiders get slightly more than outright cutting him. And we pay laughably low price to ensure we get him. Makes complete sense now. I am happy with this. Again, given the options available, Geno is the best one.

Reports are coming out that Minnesota wanted Geno and if he was released, he would have obviously ended up there.

Does Rabid Vinny realize that the Jets brought in a QB who has thrown for over 15,000 yards and 90 TDs in the past 4 years? Those numbers would rank 4th ALL TIME IN JETS HISTORY.

Hahah Geno is back. He sucks. Makes no sense. People are acting as if it's the same 22-year-old guy from 2013. Grow up.

But now there's the Jessica Alba situation to think about. She might have attended Jets games if Burrow was here. ; )

This is most offensive, insulting thing anyone has ever done to me. We have to sit through 4 years of a sulky, league worst (31 of 31) malcontent QB, who is resoundingly determined by everyone to be entitled a-hole. We only get out of that because a teammate fractures his jaw by punching him in the face (no one else on team literally cares or speaks out when this happens).

That's one thing if it happens organically and I'm fine to sit through draft busts and humiliations - have certainly done that before (sanchize/Z/geno), but to now willingly put me back in that situation is unconscionable. Cruel and unusual. I mean I'm sure he's matured a bit and is now an average qb (and likely our best option), but this is so galling. I'm done. I can't watch Geno. I can't. Like I already did this.

The only more insulting thing the could have done was sign Z to a contract to bone my mom!
