I'm happy to have Geno back. I did go to WVU so I have always had a soft spot for him. His issue last year was the terrible O-line and WR not getting any separation, so he was forced to hold onto the ball for too long. Also, felt like the Raiders were always running slow developing deep passing plays. We desperately need a WR #2 to lineup on the other side of Garrett and the OC needs to get the ball out of his hand quickly. I think Geno can have some success in NY next year if we shore up the OL (interior), get some playmakers and have a competent OC.
If f'in Tom Brady can manage to turn around the f'n RAIDERS then just shoot me. Shoot me immediately. I thought he was finally out of my life, screwing around as a mediocre overpaid broadcaster and figurehead of a terrible team. Jordan post retirement, part deux. This will just be too much.
You have to actually throw the ball somewhat accurately to throw picks. Defenders are usually closer to offensive players. When you're so inaccurate, you miss everyone. Tim Tebow also never threw picks. They both recognize their limitations and avoid throwing. No thanks
I truly cannot fathom we’re discussing Justin Fields as anything other than one of the worst starting QBs to ever wear a Jets jersey (which is a high bar) that was a major part of the problem in one of the worst years in franchise history.
I don’t think I can stomach another 60 yard passing game from Fields. I just sat there in silence last year with no emotion while he played QB. We have seen bad football as Jet fans, from Jets and NFL as a whole, but that was something that no team should accept. It was why I was so against Glenn being brought back because he advocated for this guy. Also at the end of the day, players want to win, they are not looking to tank the season and concern themselves with draft position.
They all suck, but I think Fields is worse than Geno…he can’t complete a fucking pass…never thought I’d see an NFL QB in this day and age throw for 45 yards and 60 yards…two full games under 100. Disgusting. I remember watching the games and yelling so many times “THROW THE FUCKING BALL ALREADY!!!” Anyway, good if we want to compete for the first overall pick…but hard to watch
Look Dean, you’re not wrong to be underwhelmed by Geno. He was a total bum when he played for the Jets. But he’s been quite a bit better since. And even with the Jets he was far and away better than Zach or Fields ever were. Bottom line, we need a marginally competent QB. And now we have one that the Raiders are basically paying to start for us. Nobody is pretending we just signed Johnny Unitas.
Your argument is just asinine because you’re trying to relate his first couple years here to what he became in Seattle. Over three years starting in Seattle he was 27-22 with 71 TDs/35 INTs (2:1 if you’re keeping score at home) while completing 68.5% of his passes. 250 yards per game. Last year with the Raiders, they were 32nd in rushing yards, TDs, and yards per attempt. Once Jakobi Myers was traded, his top receiving targets were Tre Tucker, Jack Bech and Tyler Lockett who the Titans released. Brock Bowers missed almost half the season. Put some context on your arguments and make it make sense. The Raiders were putrid if you ever tried to stomach through their games and it didn’t have a lot to do with Geno.
Not for nothing, but Geno has thrown for 4,000+ yards twice in last 4 years. A Jet QB hasn't done that in over 49 years.
Always felt like he threw an accurate pass. He just was such a bonehead when he was here. Interested to see how he looks as a gray beard
Also there’s a meme going round of Geno’s surrounding cast when he was here as a rookie and his surrounding cast this year with the Jets. I mean it ain’t saying much but I gotta say I think he has more talent now by comparison
