There is one guarantee in professional sports: If you don't get to the playoffs, you will never win a championship. Whenever you get in, you have a chance.
I would rather have a Qb that gives me a chance to win as opposed to hoping for a Miracle every year. I have never had the feeling that Chad could go and beat a good team when it counted.
He is probably at 15. But 15 out of 32 is just AVERAGE. He is an average QB, not good, not horrible. If we want to get to the next level, we need to have a GOOD QB, ie Top 10.
Funny, but I could swear I remember thet Jets beating the Pats in Foxboro this year with #10 at QB. I guess it was a dream or maybe it was a replay of the 2002 win on ESPN Classic or the NFL Network.
So now youre saying Chad Pennington cant create no offense, thats what youre implying. So I guess we won all 10 games this season in defensive battles. We won by pitching shutouts and kicking field goals, right? So the argument was initially that Chad cant get us to the Superbowl but now youre saying he cant put points on the boards. I guess I have no idea what team I was watching this season because by youre description it sure as hell wasnts the Jets, because I actually saw a couple high scoring affairs. What team was I watching?
They were playing on a pigpen field. We saw how the story ended when we played them in the Playoffs. Like it does every year.
Im saying Chad can't create offense when it matters. How many TD'S did he create v.s the Patriots in the playoffs. A ten yard pass to a receiver that runs 70 yards is not a Pennington play that is a great play from a Wr that makes a mediocre Qb look good! Chad did what he usually does when it mattered in Jan. Self Destruct when we get behind. I watched a team that had a gift from above with their Schedule and made it to the playoffs to give us false hope that we are better than we are. We beat the Pats one time in a Pigpen of a field and that was the only good team we beat all year. We beat the tomato cans we played and we got beat by all the good teams we played this year.
Watch the tape. Chad releases the ball at the 15, Cotchery catches it at the 40, that's 25 yards in the air, on the money. The Miami game Chad releases the ball around the 30, Cotchery catches it in stride around the 5, again 25 yards on the spot. Your hatred of your own QB is clouding your vision. Once again, watch the tapes, don't just regurgitate what you read here.
Im old enough to have suffered through Richard Todd-Johnny Lam Jones days. I still consider Miami my most hated rival. The Pats are the new kids on the block. With that said I still feel that Chad is not good enough to get us to the promised land. The Pats will be a better team every year as long as Beli and Brady are there and they will always have an advantage. I feel our coach can match theirs with x's and o's but our Qb does not have the skill to match Brady. If you go through all the teams in the Afc that are good their signal caller is way better than ours. I want that position upgraded. I did not blame Pennington for this season he played to the best of his abilities. What I am saying is I think we need to get someone who can play better.
H'mm wonder what your opinion is of this supposed scenario We are playing for the AFC Championship in Foxboro. The weather has been terrible clear but 15 degrees & winds gusting to 20/30 MPH. We are behind by 2 points cause NE missed a xtra point due to the wind. We are starting on our own 20 going AGAINST the wind & will need to get to the NE 15 at least to make good on the winning FG. There is 1 minute & 12 seconds left in the game & we have 1 TO left. Do you really think that CP can bring us down the field to score the game winning FG based on what we know of his throwing arm strenght up to now?
Did you just copy and paste that from the other day? I would trust Chad to get us from our 20 to the NE 15 in 1:12 with a timeout, certainly. You don't need to throw a bomb, you need to execute in the no-huddle and make good decisions, which is Chad's game.
Do you really think Chad can throw it into a prevent Defense when everyone knows a pass is coming? Did you not see what happened when the Pats knew he had to throw this year? It ends the same way it always does when we get behind. You can go and review the videotape if you forgot. Did you miss the Patriots waiting for his weak pass when they ran it back for a touchdown.
That was down 14 with 5:00 and forcing stuff down the field, it happens. This is down 2 and only needing a FG, having 1:12 a timeout. We've seen Chad do that many times, two different things.
So U really truly feel that CP can chuck that rock into a 20/30 mile per hour going against the wind with his arm accurately?
I saw him throw a 25 yard TD strike in the wind and rain while playing with the flu in Miami on Christmas night, so yes.
Well I think you are drinking some of Herms gatorade but U are certainly entitled to your view of things. Just to jog your memory U really/truly do remember that lollipop pass that Samuels INT for a TD in the NE PO Game hopefully before you answered my scenario. U do understand that nobody is bashing CP it is just many of us see CP as to weak armed to get us to the promised land so we would like to see a upgrade at his position. The argument that he is the only QB prsently on the roster that give us the best chance of winning a regular season game but for me that is not enough when the goal is winning a WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Also that we owe him something for the 10 wins this year does not fly cause he was paid handsomely for each one of those wins. Also if you argument would be that he is the "leader" of the pack which is true at the moment since he is the best we have at this moment but just think if BF was cut & we signed him you would see how fast the players loyalty would transfer from CP to BF cause they know that BF has what it takes to get to the promised land & they they also know CP limitations as a QB
You're all over the place, champ--Herm, New England, Brett Favre, 10 wins. Get a point and get back to me. I answered your question and gave you some background on where I get my opinion from.
