Geezzz...yeah, can't forget that. In fact, the TV revenue conquers all. NOTHING, from a financial standpoint, will impact that asshole. Shame we couldn't convince the fans, from other teams, to not bother coming as well. A fully empty stadium would send a message. Sadly, there will always be that handful of fools that are easily separated from their cash.
Yep, also as the money supply expands his team will just continue to be worth more and more and get dragged up with the rest of the league. While boycotting him will take a hit, his overall wealth from owning the Jets will still increase.
From Brian Costello "It is possible the Jets will finish the year without anyone having 500 receiving yards for the first time since 1976. Garrett Wilson still leads the Jets in receiving yards at 395. Mason Taylor has 369. Breece Hall 323. Adonai Mitchell 236. 3 games left." https://x.com/i/status/2002072240477909115 This level of ineptitude is staggering. How many crazy stat records are we breaking this year?!? Every time I look it's another insane stat, this regime is historically bad. Honestly the Glenn regime is the worst mistake I think I have seen since I've been a fan.
JSMH In a league where the entire design is to ensure parity, there has to be some stone that needs to be turned over PROVING the Johnson family is doing this bullshit on purpose. They HAVE to be! There really is no explanation. The Johnsons should be forced to sell the Jets.
Changed the name of this thread to.... "I despise Aaron Glenn" . Here you go SOXXX2.. Knock yourself out.
I dont really despise Glenn, I despise Woody for setting up parameters for his coaching search which lead to 33rd team ending up with Glenn. In an ideal world I would have liked to see Glenn win but not everyone is meant for it. We are all on this sinking ship together anyways and it sucks
Issue is not Glenn. Issue was not Bowles, Gase, Saleh either. Issue is Johnson brothers. They were born with silver spoon in their mouth. They didn't have to work hard for even 1 day in their lives. Problem is, we love the team they own. Now they have an offspring named Brick who is another silver spoon baby. No reason to hate Glenn really. Until Woody dies or sells the team, there is no hope.
Woody is the overarching problem. But within the football part of the organization, Glenn and Gase are/were the problem. Bowles and Saleh were not the problem. When Bowles and Saleh were the coaches, Maccagnan and Douglas were the problem. Also with the quarterbacks, Darnold was not the problem. Zach Wilson was the problem. The problem is Woody is too stupid to see who the problems are in his organization.
That’s fair but Bowles & Saleh’s insistence on certain schemes drove personnel decisions at times. I’m not giving Maccagnan and Douglas passes because they were dreadful general managers but do we take two safeties in the first two rounds if Bowles isn’t here? A year removed from focusing all our free agent resources on bringing Revis, Buster Skrine and the other guy in. Do we seek out first round situational pass rusher Will McDonald for a red shirt year with a loaded defensive line room already if Saleh isn’t here? As an example, I was reading the Buccaneers forum a while back to try to find some prop bet information and they don’t understand why they just keep taking so many defensive backs in the draft especially with veterans under contract. That’s Bowles. Douglas & Maccagnan would’ve screwed it up in another way but the coaches are more involved in personnel than I think we all realize.
Nothing like starting a year and rebuild next year with an entire staff on the hot seat. Desperate coaches make desperate decisions to save themselves in spite of the team. Great spot to be in going into a year when we have capital in the draft and money to turn it around. This organization is the worst https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/69...-aaron-glenn-jets-titans-coaching-candidates/
Unsurprising but depressing nonetheless. The Mayo/Glenn parallels really tell the story. Two former players hired despite questionable qualifications. The difference is in the owners. Kraft makes decisions on time and Woody is perpetually a year late. The thing I'm most baffled by is Woody's refusal to learn any lessons from past failures. He just makes the same mistakes over and over and over. Hiring the wrong types of coaches, keeping coaches a year too long. The guy is incapable of learning.
Other than being players their resumes aren’t at all similar. Glenn was on the staff of 4 different teams, he had front office experience, and was a coordinator for 4 years. Mayo never left NE, only 5 years coaching in his entire life, and was elevated from inside linebackers coach
He’s a billionaire, didn’t you know that money = intelligence? It’s hard to learn when your money says he knows it all. Side note, was reading an article on the NFL website and it looks like Nagy, in Kansas City didn’t re-sign with the Chiefs in the hopes of landing a HC spot. Another offensive minded option. Unfortunately, the same article talks how Glenn is highly regarded in the building so, as many speculated, Glenn is going nowhere. https://www.nfl.com/news/examining-...ms-eliminated-from-2025-postseason-contention
He doesn't learn from his mistakes and it's really not that hard to fix the situation. HIRE A FORMER HEAD COACH. My list would be Harbaugh, McCarthy, Gruden, Flores, Kingsbury Am I an overwhelmingly huge fan of all of them? No they all have certain flaws. Would they at least get the Jets back to being consistenty competitive and in the playoffs picture in December? Yes The strategy of trying to win the lottery by finding the next Belichick or whatever has failed. No more risk. Take on the least risk. Take someone who has shown they can be competitive in the NFL.
I don't think it's a first time vs. experienced coach thing. First time coaches work out all the time, we're just really bad at choosing coaches no matter their experience level. The good coaches with experience don't become available other than once in a blue moon like with Vrabel.
You know what I just realized… Johnson hires former failures to supposedly find future Jets successes. Tannenbaum (owner of the 33rd Term). Has Been’s like Casserly and Wolf to hire McCagnen. This asshole simply doesn’t have what it takes to run much of anything above a yard sale. JSMH…
Oh but he DOES have what it takes.. His name and the family fortune is all it takes. He signs the checks and rakes in the bucks from the rubes. Winning the spreadsheet is more important than winning football games. Its an investment to make him more money. Its not personal.. This is business...
