They have a once in a generation freak playing quarterback. I don’t think they should be used as the barometer for much of anything. If he wasn’t who he is, that front office would’ve been fired long ago and they sure as shit would have been fired this season after all the cap casualties they had and the lack of weapons

I like this plan a lot. That offense would cause problems for defenses. Tate plays outside, he's not a slot WR, and thats great because we need that more. Wilson and Metchie can play in the slot, Mitchell and Tate outside

I will say JV has brought up the name Concepcion from Texas A&M. If you dont go with Tate, KC Concepcion would be a great get also. He has elite separation skills and that appears to be Mougey's type

Not a bad option with our first 2nd rounder if he's there (if Colts stick at 21 that's too rich for my blood). He's mostly a slot guy though, correct? I like the idea of adding elite skills anywhere on offense but we badly need the big body to go get it. Tate isn't exactly a big body but he's built like Justin Jefferson and he'll go get it. I mean honestly, add either of those guys and we're making the offense unbelievably comfy for any QB.

Concepcion and Makai Lemon are probably more slot guys but they’re still awesome.

The other two big outside receiver that’ll be available in the late 1st/early 2nd are Chris Bell from Louisville and Jakobi Lane from USC. Denzel Boston from Washington is probably in the mix too.

I like Bell the most. He reminds me of TO out there. Big, physical, and doesn’t let contact stop him. He’s a bully.

Concepcion and Lemon are good enough that I'd be fine drafting them as slot guys even though it's not the best fit for the current WR room.

I think the conclusion here is that we can stack the WR room in the draft and it's a pretty good year to have an extra first and second.

    Guys!,.......guys!,......guys!

What good is it to spend an early draft pick on a WR if we still don't have the QB position nailed down??? Lets please not put the cart before the horse.

Hate this mindset, just like I hate the "we can't draft any offensive player until we have an OL". Why would we not assemble the best roster possible for the next QB? If we don't go QB at the top of the first we're sitting at 21 and Carnell Tate is somehow there, you'd pass on him because we don't have a QB? Seems crazy to me.

It wouldn’t be a bad thing to have a receiver entering his second season and you insert a rookie QB into that situation with a bunch of proven weapons.

I like the idea of using our higher 1st round pick on a DE. That’s been a weakness of ours forever.

The lower pick should be used on a physical receiver. Let’s get back to the Walker/Toon days. Minus the concussions.

We should also spend a few higher round picks rebuilding our LB “core”. Interiors of both lines can be fleshed out as well.

Save the QB for next year when the pickings ain’t so slim. Probably work on the DBs at that point too.

    Per Rosenblatt

"Tanner Engstrand lights up whenever he talks about Adonai Mitchell.

Said he’s one of the first people in the building and said he’s noticed things clicking for him in terms of understanding the scheme or the play calls — that he can see Mitchell hearing the call in walkthrough and immediately understanding what he has to do. #Jets"

I still have a lot of confidence in this kid being our #3 next year with Metchie and Smith as depth. Just need a 1b to Wilson's 1a

He's been pretty good since that awful first game he played for us.

I really think that with a full camp and a decent QB we have something in Mitchell. He's ALWAYS open and seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders minus one play. Excited to see him with Garrett and god willing, one of Tate or Lemon or Concepcion.

I have a lot of love for Jakobi Lane. I think he would be a great pick up on day two. I’m ok with Menchie in the slot, sprinkled in with Wilson at times, and use Lane heavy in the red zone. I’m going to check out Bell tape and see.

He makes peanuts for the next couple seasons, if he can be atleast a #3 this trade is even more genious. Got rid of a guy who can't tackle or intercept the ball and was grossly overrated for 2 1st's and a legit receiver making nothing.

Agree completely, God forbid our receivers have a chance to show it behind a good QB.

I like him a lot better as WR3 than as WR2…I don’t think he’s consistent enough and still drops too many balls to be counted on as a solid WR2.

But yes, he gets open, and he’d be a nice WR3 I guess.

That’s the thing with him and the drops…there will be days when he’s on and he catches almost everything, and we’ve seen a couple of games like that now so that’s good, but there will also be days when balls hit his hands and he drops like 3 of them, and we’ve seen those days as well

That’s why we got him so cheap…but yeah if he can work the juggs machine and improve his consistency, then would be a very nice WR3

On a related note, sad to see that (at least so far), Arian Smith has been a total no show…like nothing to see here.

I can see Smith being cut before the start of next season. He's already been inactive once due to discipline issues. He's invisible on the field and there's no real plan to use him. Evidently he's not even good enough for specials. 4th round waste.
