I’m not out on Engstrand if it doesn’t include Glenn. Firing Engstrand and keeping Glenn is laughable. When are we gonna fucking learn?
Same shit when we scapegoated MLF In hindsight (and to be fair, many of us here saw it at the time not just in hindsight), the problem there was 100% Zach. MLF walked the plank when it should have been Zack. And if we need any proof of the incompetence, anyone with eyes watching those games saw us do so much better whenever there was a QB in there NOT named Zach run that offense….shit even journeymen like Josh Johnson, Flacco, even Mike fucking White ran that offense well. That’s why overdrafted shit QBs like that are coach killers…owners or general public out there see these highly drafted kids struggle and the first finger is pointed at the coaches. Zach for sure is that. Fields as well. Smarter teams see it more quickly…took the Steelers 6 games and as soon as Russell was healthy enough to play they benched Fields. Tomlin is not a dummy. I’m curious to see what Glenn does moving forward…
MILF was able to generate offense though when Zach sat down and others played. We almost made play-offs with Mike White, who is not even good enough to be in the NFL. Engstrand is not able to do that with Tyrod, who has always been a good back-up and played very well most recently for the Giants. So, yes, Fields absolutely sucked ass, but we have 1.5 games with Tyrod now with identical outcome. It is not fair to MILF to compare Tanner to him. And MILF had no OL and often didn't have WRs either. Let's not absolve Tanner from the fiasco that is taking place. He is not the victim, he is a major part of it. Both QBs look worse than they did at any point of their careers aside from rookie seasons. Tanner needs to go along with AG and we start fresh next season.
Taylor and Engstrand both will look better this week. Its a difficult situation to swap mid game when he hasn't the reps all week. Unless they do something stupid like start Fields sunday, the offense will look better in Cincinnati
They did with TB and could not anything going until the 4th, which was the same exact thing with Fields. Also, Tyrod has to hit Lazard and Smith for wide pen TDs. Smith got wide ass open and Lazard was open too on the trick play, and Tyrod just underthrew both badly. He goes for back pilon both times, and we actually win as crazy as it sounds. This is not about reps with the 1st team, it's just hitting a throw. But I agree, Fields has been unplayable in the last two games and we might as well see what Tyrod has left in the tank.
of course Taylor played poorly. Not sure that's on Engstrand though. Also Lazard wouldve dropped the pass if it was placed directly in stride anyway, he blows
Who knows maybe the ref would give it to Lazard if he barely manages to hold, like in the TB game. When you score 6 points in a game, no one did well. Does Tanner even know Breece can catch the ball or it will take until week 8 to figure it out, like it did Hackett? Tanner has gone full Hackett after game 1, and we all know you can't go full Hackett.
Not sure you're right about Zach Wilson. I remember one jets game he threw for 77 yards TOTAL, and the jets defense played GREAT. The jets lost on a punt return at the end. When Zach was asked by reporters if the offense let the team down, Zach chirped w a straight face "no,no" He did not look mad to me, and refused to own a terrible performance. I recall reading that Zach's Dad texted him right after the interview and suggested he rethink his answers. BTW, I see the Dolphins just demoted him to #3 QB..
Maybe part of the Jets coach onboarding process is a frontal lobotomy. I'm running out of more realistic reasons.
Buy a Chinese knockoff that doesn't come with an NFL hologram and Woody doesn't get a nickel from if you really have a Jones about shirts. And, no - no player "deserves" to have anyone buy his jersey. The people who are the customers "deserve" to have every player, coach and administrator produce a good product.
