I'm just looking to pander here for a few more votes for my grandson. He was born last April with a few issues that will effect him going forward. Luckily my daughter, and her husband are great parents and are doing everything in their power to make sure he gets all the help he needs.

They are entered in a contest which has a small monetary prize which would help with an upcoming trip to PA this summer where he can get some intensive therapy.

The contest is in the final leg of the first round and looking to get some extra votes for him. You can vote daily, but unfortunately you do need to have a Facebook account which I realize many don't have but even if you don't vote, just having him in your thoughts would mean a lot to me.

I don't expect anyone to choose the paid vote option, just a single daily free vote please. Like I said, you can vote once a day until the round is over, and I will bump this daily, as a reminder, if the mods are ok with that. This is just to get out of the prelims though, there have been best of 25, best of 10, best of 5 and now the final of the prelims. Still lots of rounds to go, any votes are appreciated.

Oh, geez, I'm so sorry to hear this. No social media here. PLEASE bring this to your daughter and son-in-law's attention as well as your grandson's neurologist. It's a "drug" called Epidiolex.

    https://www.epidiolex.com/

    https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7439947/

It is NOT a barbiturate! Cannabanoids, baby (no pun intended). It was formerly FDA approved for children as young as one year, but that may have been updated to include infants under one year of age. Don't take no for an answer and go to someone else if necessary.

Seizures are terrifying and can cause damage to a baby as I'm sure you are aware. A sick infant is a stress and heartache of a completely different order. Wishing you blessings and strength. All the best for a positive outcome. I would vote if I could.

    Thank you, appreciate this all

On top of the seizures, also has cortical vision impairment, of course going to need to wait a bit top Dr to what degree that effects him.

Ugh (cortical vision impairment). You're welcome, keep us updated! Please let me know what the Neuro says about Epidiolex as an option. The gov't link is a bit outdated, but there are a ton of clinical articles out there.

Was your grandson a preemie? What type of seizure disorder does he have? Did they classify it? I hope that's not too invasive. You don't have to answer, but you never know who might chime in.

Situations such as these often cement how I feel about the human race. I get some jackass complaining about nonsense and then I see a St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital Commercial when I get home and it makes me hate them more, lol. This lady came screaming into the UPS Store the other day that the guy being helped at the counter had to move his car IMMEDIATELY because she had things to do, and she was blocking him in. "I'm parked in a handicapped spot, what are you talking about?" Everyone turned to stare at her, and she DOUBLED DOWN. "WELL, I DON'T SEE A SIGN!" I'm not making this up. I started laughing, and some other guy on line was guffawing, it was great. All of my tangents are necessary.

Good luck with everything, yeah? <== My Queenseese.
