Define hilarity: Giants fans getting ready to lynch Daboll because of Jones and then praising the man for how he's handled and "coached up" Dart. I can name, on one hand, the Quarterbacks I've seen in my lifetime that could go into ANY team and just "git er' done. That's a fact. You can cut TWO fingers off that hand and get the same list.

99.9% of these guys are "system" QB's. In my mind, where the real talent lies, is these coaches/gm's who have the ability to recognize which players would "fit" their system and then, somehow GET those players. Shanahan wanted Mac Jones in the worst way, now we see why. In my opinion, he's better than Purdy. The timing wasn't there. Same goes across the league. THIS is where my assessment of Moog and Glenn will begin. We now know Fields is who he is. The NY Jets FUTURE resides with do Glenn & Moog have the ABILITY, along with Tanner, to IDENTIFY the kid in college who exactly FITS what Tanner and Glenn want to do on offense? To date, NO ONE in NY Jets green has been able to do that. Since Namath prowled the sidelines. THIS is where we'll find out if Glenn, Moog and Tanner have the "chops" to be NFL top guys or will they be yet another series of men, in a loooong line of previous men, who are nothing more than complimentary guys on other teams with better head people.

To be somewhat fair to Fields. These coaches aren't really giving him a chance to do much.

They're 'playing' him but they're not really allowing him to play? This offense has been unwatchable.

    Zero balls.

If it's Fields holding on to the ball too long, not pulling the trigger, not passing downfield etc. either way it's the coaching because they're the ones starting him.

But I suspect not because Tyrod got killed in the one game he started so far.

NYJ QBs are getting killed because these defenses have nothing to fear. They bring heat and they know they're not going to get burned.

They have to open up the offense HAVE TO. It is what it is these are the QBs they wanted these are the receivers they wanted they have to work with what they got. Stop coaching/playing scared let's see what we got here.

The tiny bit I saw of the spread offense vs Dallas what was wrong with it? It looked like it was going good until Hall fumbled. After that the coaches went back into a shell.

Have to agree on the opening up the offense. Hey, if he throws picks he throws picks. It's either that or we'll be on QB's 4 & 5 and RB's 3 & 4 before the end of the season because defenses are tee'ing off. Open the damn playbook and either sink or swim. Me, personally, I'd LIKE to see how many of these players adjust and either get better or really suck balls. Then, at the very least, the cuttable ones become painfully obvious.

2026 is about drafting a new QB and continuing the re-build of the roster.

Its called trust your QB...and they don't. They thought they could coach him up but have realized to their utter dismay that he is exactly what he has been in the NFL.

Hell, no! Facts are easy - they are written down in history forever.

Focusing on those that are relevant today appears to be very difficult for some.

The best thing Fields is doing comes in the form of what he’s not doing, which is turning the ball over.

It’s not keeping us in games.

Nothing will keep us in games if there defense plays the way it does. But it is a good things he only had 2 TOs so far, one of which came on the 4th down anyway. And 0 INTs especially considering how much he has thrown the ball vs what we expected. And others brought up Dart, who is mobile, but not really known to be a dual threat. Yet, there are quite a few designed runs are incorporated now that he is the starter. I think we should do more of that with Fields too. And why the fuck are we not using tush push with big dude like Fields in the middle? Against Cowboys we could have taken 3d and 1 instead of accepting a penalty for 2nd and 3, and just tush push twice. If we cannot get half a yard on a tush push, why did we vote to keep it in? I don't know guys, I just think sometimes we are the dumbest team in the League.

Fields is not THE problem, but he is a problem.

I feel like the theme of his career is not being the problem but also not being the answer.

What is the list of the biggest problems we have and where is he on that list? Whom could we have realistically gotten instead who would have helped to solve that problem?

We don't agree on many things when it comes to him, but I actually agree with that. He hasn't lifted the team but he hasn't been a problem either. There are other more critical things to focus the wrath on. I do want to see what the team look like though with him in it if we are able to solve the biggest problems, including defense, TOs, and penalties.

Really, the biggest problems are mostly related to coaching. But I am beginning to think Glenn is not capable of that and we will never see it with him here. Which means a top pick, another rookie QB, growing pains, new coach, rinse and repeat for years. Hopefully one day it will come together.
