I just can’t stand the Yankees insistence on building the lineup around a spreadsheet matchup. It’s obsessive at this point.

Why is Volpe getting at bats over Caballero at this point in the season? At some point don’t you have to try something instead of an automatic strikeout?
The Yankees helped the Blue Jay's so much with the lineup. I don't get by math how it even makes sense.
Something about taking your gold glove third basemen out when he’s the only guy who accounted for a run, doesn’t make sense.
But we keep volpe in. Id rather keep McMahon than Volpe. I'm beyond done with volpe. He's not an mlb short stop. There's also more hitting short stops than third baseman currently in the game.
I'm not going to write up another offseason wish list. I'll just say this team needs more contact hitters that are right handed and they were shown in the playoffs that their formula is not the best one. I fully expect almost nothing to change offensively and defensively. I do expect the bullpen to be better next year and the starting pitching will be very good. This should have been a sweep but the Yankees have the best hitter in the planet.
If Cole bounces back and Schmidt makes it back at some point, you really have to like the arms next year. Cole Fried Rodon Gil Schlittler is a pretty badass rotation and you’ve got Warren and eventually Schmidt to slot in as necessary.
I can't blame Boone for this. He doesn't have a well structured team and the defense is not good. I also don't think he makes the lineup for the day, which I think handed the jays manager an easy night.
Putting Devin Williams in over a power pitcher in that spot makes no sense dude. You need a strikeout there. Pinch hitting Rosario after McMahon is your sole run source also makes no sense. The following inning you lose McMahon’s glove on a play he probably makes. I wouldn’t doubt that Boone gets the lineup emailed to him, but until I see the proof of that, he’s responsible for it.
I also think the Yankees were hunting for too many walks tonight. Volpe and Grisham looked at way too many strikes down the middle. Wells too. Then the counter were even and they hacked at bad pitches.
I don't think those moves mattered. They can't hit, and they are never in that situation with actual defense. Also, Williams is a strikeout pitcher.
Not against a lineup that doesn’t strikeout though. And if you play that differently you could be looking at 3-1 or 2-1 honestly. It’s wishful thinking but 5-1 is where those moves got us.
Too eager to swing unfortunately. Tough to blame him but would’ve liked him to get a better pitch to hit. Volpe & Wells both strike me as guys that the Yankees overload with information at the plate. They end up way late on fastball balls despite naturally having pretty good bat speed. Only time that happens to guys is when they’re hunting pitches too much.
Yeah no excuse. He lost his patience this year and he's not been the same offensively. We are stuck with Stanton for 2 more years. I expect absolutely nothing to change roster wise until he's gone.
