But tell me what convinces Breece to stay here? He’s been saying in round about ways he’s sick of being a Jet for almost a year now. No way he re-signs?
3rd and 1. They finally give it to Breece Hall (because Allen is hurt), it’s been years since he’s been on the field on 3rd/4th and short. He busts out a 22 yard run use Breece
None of our RBs can seem to hold onto the ball in crucial situations, bring back the kid from Michigan, trade Breece, he's useless here now
Keep an eye on Tampa Bay. They are currently 4-1. Hopefully they still have a good record leading up to the Nov 4 trade deadline after Week 9. They don't have a really good RB to speak of. They look like a good chance for us ---- conditional 3rd rounder to become a 2nd round pick if TB gets into the NFC Championship game.
Making me sick to my stomach seeing Philadelphia possibly getting the 65TH OVERALL PICK in 2026 because of the Haasan Reddick abortion.
Eh he’s banged up but Bucky Irving is probably just as good if not better than Breece. If you wanna argue Breece is more talented, sure but Irving has been more productive for sure. They also have Rachaad White & Sean Tucker who have good resumes.
One of the worst trades in NFL history. On Jets Final Drive, Connor Hughes claimed something along the lines of the Jets were prepared to lock up Bryce Huff mid-season in 2022 but following Mike White's injury they were told to put a hold on any spending. Who knows who feeds him that info, but if true, as always, issues trickle up to bad ownership
Absolutely Trading for a disgruntled player who was actually holding out without getting a new deal done as part of the trade was an asinine move on JD’s part and one of his worst decisions…I don’t care how many verbal assurances the agent may have told JD that the player would play…those are meaningless without a contract in place. That was desperation on JD’s part…his mistake was he should have signed Huff instead of letting him walk for nothing…I get that Huff flopped in Philly but is back again for SF playing for Saleh again…
“I want to win games. I’m not worried about having fun right now. I'm in my fourth year, and I don't have a lot of time left to prove what I want to do and who I can be in this league.” 24-year-old Breece Hall . Already a productive player that can run, catch, and is durable saying he just wants to win. Looking internally after a week he made a mistake. He's not partying with Ice Spice*, not trying to talk about making friends*, or saying the stats are wrong*... -- Again, I may be the only guy left but I would build around that and not trade that. Hes going to go somewhere else and be awesome *sauce gardner *question was trying to get him to talk about that *justin fields
You just keep missing the point though dude. Why would Breece re-sign here? He’s practically said out loud that he doesn’t want to be here in the quote you posted. I don’t want to trade Breece and it’s not because I don’t think he’s a good player. I want to trade Breece because I think he’s running to the free agency door as soon as we get through week 18. And I’d bet he holds out if we franchise him.
They give him 12 carries, pull him out on 3rd downs for lesser players, and lose every week. Of course he will hit the door
Ok, exactly. So then why would you not trade him since he hates it here and won’t re-sign? The damage in the relationship between the player and organization is done. It’s time to cut our losses (unfortunately) and recoup something rather than watching him go sign with the Vikings in the offseason.
If you trade Breece, literally who is playing RB for them? That's a little shortsighted in what's almost certainly a lost season, but still. It leaves Isaiah Davis and I don't even know who else. I might be more open to the idea now if we could actually see what we have right now in Isaiah Davis. What did he have like one carry last week?
You draft a kid in the mid rounds, sign a mid tier free agent for minimal money and let Davis/Allen compete with the group for a spot. The Cowboys signed Javonte Williams for $3 million to carry the load. The Panthers added Rico Dowdle for $2.75 million and he looked untackle-able (not a word I guess) yesterday. The Commanders drafted Croskey-Merritt in the 7th and he’s starting. They traded Brian Robinson for a 6th round pick. There are a lot of ways to fill in the position without a huge draft pick or financial investment. There’s some solid looking vets available out there next year you can probably bring into a committee. He’s a very similar running to Braelon but I’d probably sign Tyler Allgeier if I wanted to avoid burning a resource in the draft. He’s a proven thousand yard back that’s only a backup because of Bijan.
or there’s another way. Buffalo makes James Cook the feature of their entire offense, and resigns him long term to a reasonable contract. And wins almost every week
They were 24-9 in 2020-2021 with Devin Singletary as the lead back. Cook was a backup to Singletary and they were 13-3 in 2022. They were winning almost every week before he got there.
