No one in the national media will admit this, but Texas has a ton of talent and Arch has been the weak link. Still, I can’t see any way they drop out of the top-25 if they lose this one.
The fans are all over Arch. Lot of them aren’t impressed and definitely not patient about it. Be interesting to see if discussing college football busts becomes more of a thing with NIL now.
Alabama took Vandy light first half. After I typed my 14-7 up message they shut down Vandy and scored 23 unanswered points. Thanks to you guys I wasn't expecting a win but I liked what I saw from Vandy boys. Do you think Vandy will play in any of the Bowl games end of the year? I want to take my son to a Vandy game being played outside Nashville as a road trip during holiday season.
Just to be fair to Arch Manning, I only root against him because the national media anointed him Heisman favorite and projected him as the first pick in the draft before he was even named starter at Texas. But that’s not his fault. He actually seems like a pretty humble kid. When you boil it down, I’m really rooting more against the media and the “draft experts” than Arch.
Probably. The upside: one more win and they’re bowl eligible. The downside: the rest of their schedule is murder.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank UCLA and Nico Iamaleava for showing the world two things. First, for reinforcing the mediocrity of Drew Allar. Second, for showing the world that conference realignment went too far.
For whatever reason I’ve always hated Penn State. I grew up a Gators “fan” in the Northeast but also root for Cuse and Rutgers. The zomg white out shit is lame too. They deserve everything they get. Franklin should be fired tomorrow as he’s god awful against any decent team.
Hah! Chris Fowler just referred to Carson Beck as a “football savant”. I’ma need a few minutes to roll my eyes back to the front of my head. Holy crap.
Rueben Bain Jr. is the best player in college football at this point. I think he’s a #1 overall candidate.
Manning has been bad no doubt. He has very few starts though maybe he’s just your run of the mill young player and the hype machine is responsible for our angst I love Rocco Becht he is a hell of a football player
He’s great, Williams from Alabama though … idk he’s amazing, I think he’s the best . Not draft eligible though
Also firing Franklin would be a disaster for Penn State. Yeah he chokes in every big game but if they fire him they will never have big games again. Kinda like Purdue or Minnesota or Nebraska never have big games either
I still have hope on Sellers but for sure need to check out Moore and Mendoza for some reason I keep coming back to Nussmeier. I don’t think he will be MVP caliber but strikes me as an above average often clutch QB in the NFL
When you boil it all down, there wasn’t a ton of daylight between Arch Manning and Dante Moore in their recruiting rankings or surrounding talent. But Arch was the Heisman favorite and consensus first pick before a single snap this year, while Dante got penalized for one true-freshman year in the UCLA clownshow. Shows you the Manning jizz-factor at work. I had to catch the Oregon-Penn State replay because I was too busy getting kicked in the nuts on a competing game. I don’t hate Dante Moore. He just reminds me of a hundred other past college QBs. That’s not so terrible. I still think of him as a first year starter. By playoff time, I could be fully sold.
Btw, has anyone else noticed how the media narrative has now shifted to calling this year’s QB class “underwhelming”? About ten days behind this thread. Although, they didn’t have the benefit of seeing the @Brook! curse blossom in real-time. Here’s The Audible podcast from last week, where they also mention the Drew Allar - Christian Hackenberg comparisons. Heh. Welcome aboard, guys.
