An absolute embarrassment on national television. Coach preaches accountability, fans and the press are asking where is it? Wilks is terrible, but his resume already showed that. You cut a guy for fumbling, his replacement is worse. The sharks are starting to stir. It won’t be long until Glenn is engulfed by the frenzy. If you are afraid to let your quarterback throw, he should not be your quarterback. The offensive line doesn’t know where to block, in protection, because Fields looks panicked every pass play. The defense is nonexistent and needs a complete revamp. It will be interesting to see who and when someone walks the plank. These Jets SUCK!
Stephens was better last night but yeah good point. Adams is tough to watch and after Achane ran through him for the TD he should’ve sat down
I’d have to look at all-22 but you’re right, to the naked eye he didn’t stand out. I know he ran directly into a linebacker which is why Waller was wide open on his second touchdown but not sure if that was on him or the linebacker who our GM wasted a fifth round pick on. It’s alarming because he has been terrible and Thomas showed plenty when given time. He should have earned himself some snaps based on his performance. Same thing with Malachi Moore. Even moreso with him really… Because Tony Adams was fucking horrendous.

“Sauce has 0 impact on the game” is patently false. He was targeted twice the entire game. Twice. That means he took away a passing option on all but two of the Dolphins 28 passes. He got beat once for four yards by a guy 4 inches taller than him despite being draped all over him and it’s making people say illogical shit.
Wilson barely touched the guy, and he was touching GW too. I mean you do not take a TD away for this, this was just a terrible call. Also, on the Tua hit was absolute BS too. The guy was trying to get a 1st down, then apparently changed his mind and slid last second way too late into the defensive player, when two guys already jumped on him. He then got up laughing at us that he got the call. That was complete BS, even worse than Allen flop. Also, there was a call on Sauce, which I thought was pretty bad too. I mean it seems like he can't breathe on the guy without getting a call. Every game he gets a shit call against him. I really think this Tippman play sums things up very well. The refs are looking only at the Jets for penalties. Yeah, sometimes they may spot the other team here and there, but it's like they are really paying attention to just us and trying to find every little thing wrong with what we do. That's why on that play they called the holding there against us, but completely missed the most obvious and egregious penalty, drawn by Tipp right in from of refs face. I mean they missed the guy taking Tipp's helmet off two yards away from the ref and yet called a hold farther down. Complete BS, and yes, Woody or someone else needs to complain to the League to call off the fucking dogs.
I'm not saying he can't cover ... I'm saying for an alleged star, he makes zero impact plays. Never an INT, or a forced fumble, or a strip sack on a blitz. He's literally made ONE game changing play since he's been here. Can't remember what game, but I do remember him causing a fumble on a blitz early in a game a few yeas ago when we had someone pinned in by their endzone. There was another time in GB he took a lateral pass to the house on the first or second play of the game, but they said it hit the ground. Very close call. That's it.
I thought he was good in run support. I wish they would swallow their pride, start AZ and more over Stephens to safety to replace Adams.
Ironically, it was against the Dolphins. No one wants to hear it because it feels like a tired trope but it's pretty hard to make impact plays when the play never comes near you. Could he force some fumbles? Sure. But "impact plays" when you're a CB sometimes means making sure the ball is nowhere near the guy you're covering. I'd settle for even some snaps. Moore played 2 snaps, AZ played none. Stephens was better this week for sure but when AZ got time he produced and looked good. Only to get rewarded with 0 snaps? Bad look on the coaching staff. And the Adams disaster... he shouldn't even be in the NFL and his backup gets 2 snaps. Unreal.

Revis didn’t get a ton of picks either…he was so good in coverage that opposing QBs just didn’t throw his way much. Sauce is also playing across from a terrible CB, so more often than not, the QB is going to look elsewhere because the match up is better. I wouldn’t say that is “not making an impact”…if you can effectively take away a receiver, that’s a good impact Not saying Sauce is as good as Revis…he’s not…Revis was a more complete player and more of a real shutdown guy who, in his prime, always shut down his guy. But looking solely at picks is not always a good indication of how well a corner is playing
You posted gifs of a ball being thrown directly to Revis and then Revis making a tackle without 0 blockers near him and another defender pushing the play right into his hands. Not the greatest examples.
Revis intercepted the ball in his very few opportunities and more importantly he tackled not just sometimes but all the time. To me you have to be the complete package to be the highest paid CB but that’s just me.
Darrelle Revis may be the best corner that ever played the game. It is unfair to compare Sauce Gardner or anyone else to him. It is like taking the best clips of Joe Montana and saying: "He never got $40 million like Justin Fields. I expect Fields to play like Montana." Fucking absurd. Players make more money these days and Sauce Gardner is not the best corner to ever play the game, duh, of course. Compare him to his contemporaries like they do at the end of the year when they announce the pro bowl selections.
The Fields to Montana comparison is asinine. Alleged best corner in the league to best corner corner in the past who also played for the same team is nothing like a reclamation project QB to Joe Montana. I’m dying. You’re hysterical.
If you can find me clips of Sauce missing an INT on a ball overthrown his way I'll understand the comparison but as is, it's a shit one. Comparing him to the best CB to ever play (IMO) is not wise. It's like comparing average yearly salaries to determine a players' value.
