Since 2000 only one team has started 0-3 and made the playoffs (the 2018 Texans) and so with today's loss the season is (almost certainly) cooked
Meanwhile Darnold on his way to 2-1. Rodgers now 2-1. Saleh going for 3-0. Bowles now 3-0. Same old jets
This season was stillborn from the start. The Jets had zero chance of winning anything this year. Not enough talent. Not enough experience. This season should be about who stays and who goes. Frankly, I see more outbound than staying folks. Mougey made a mistake with both contracts to Wilson and Gardner. Both are overpaid and overrated. They should be looking at this upcoming draft with a eye on QB. From the gameplan today, its obvious they don't trust Fields throwing the football. Explains why Tanner got pass happy today with Tyrod who BTW, was getting his ass handed to him every pass play. Kudos for him getting pounded, but not injured.
This was not going to be a successful campaign anyway. I’m not sure why everyone always gets amnesia. New offensive playbook, the coaching staff is getting acclimated. We have a SB contender in our division. They still need to get the rot out of the roster from the previous regimes. The only downside is that the Dolphins might be worse than the Jets and may cost us a high draft pick. They most likely, go QB.
did i just read the boxscore correct... we egt a blocked FG for TD then let them drive the filed to win it anyway! jajajajajajajajajajajajajaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!! classic!!! did you dementos actually spend time watching this BS franchise? jajajajajajaja
No offense, but isn't that a loser mentality? Of course every fan should expect their team to win every game, that's why we show up I love the This is about progress mentality
I asked during the game thread who the OLC was. Whoever that person is should be getting his ass reamed by Glenn for not having that unit ready for Bowles who is known for being blitz happy. That's like playing against a Rex Ryan D and not preparing for the blitz.
It's a cold harsh reality that you have to accept. FANatics take the "we're gonna win every game" approach no matter who we're playing. The rest of us realize this team is not the finished product but instead, very early in the process. Check the polling early and as it turns out, we were right in our prediction for this game. '25 had no chance. None... Season over before Columbus Day.. This might be a record
I think it's more just an acknowledgement nod to just how delusional people can be in the process of getting to that belief. The Jets came into this year with an in-transition and bottom tier grade offense on paper. With a defense that has clearly been taking continuous steps backwards the past few seasons. Reality doesn't care whether Jets fans want to see themselves as a bad football team or not. It just cares that it is indeed a bad football team, and then spits out the on-field results of being such accordingly.
As CMAN said, it’s not a loser mentality, it’s the reality. You have to look at the landscape of the league and understand where you are positioned. The Jets were not positioned to succeed, period. I believed they would win 4 games this year, and it looks like we will probably be right around there and the only reason they get 4 is via playing teams in a worse situation. And about showing up, I gave them 2 weeks and saw what I needed to see and Sundays will be reserved for early AM golf and then family. When we have a QB AND the Jets demonstrate a pattern of winning, I intend to be back where I was…clinching the couch and getting emotional about each play. My outlook on life has shifted quite a bit and it’s too precious to squander the limited hours I have away from work to sit on the couch and watch uninspiring football.
who woulda thought we would actually be good with Woody hiring a rookie head coach and a rookie Gm again? If you did your dellusional. @brooks time to start a tankathon thread again this year.
Was I wrong? Damn... I was so sure this was going to be the turn we needed with this CS/GM. Doubts are creeping in already. The fucking life of a NYJ fan. I swear.
So it's ok to just waste a year when your team hasn't made the playoffs in 14 years? If the Jet's weren't expecting to win this year why sign Field's and Stephens? Should of just saved the cap space for next year.
What do you mean how many close games did Saleh lose? This is the exact replica of Saleh teams besides bad defense.
Not exactly a waste if the proper roster cuts are made. Woody hired another 1st timer so a year one failure to win big should have been expected. Fields is a placeholder. Expensive but they didn't overpay and only guaranteed the first year.
I honestly was expecting five wins but watching this team I don't know if we'd manage 3. It starts from the top. When you're a badly run organization you bring people down and they perform down to the level of everyone else. We keep hiring great coordinators who can't head coach. Can we for once hire a top of line coach. Oh wait they won't ever come to a shit show. We can't ever recover a fumble but we're the best at losing them. Penalties, use of timeouts etc. So so so many missed tackles. We can't develop a TE or QB to save our lives.
You just spent time posting about something you allegedly don’t care about in weird broken English if you wanna call it that…
