On what planet is a two sentence post a heart attack? Relax. The bigger issue is I literally couldn't remember his name and had never heard of him before so that was the best way to describe him. Guy from the Bears who is so irrelevant his signing wasn't even reported.

Myers got a one year $2 mil deal fully guaranteed. That’s a backup, I don’t think we have to discuss whether or not anyone is going to be shuffling around the line. Still a glaring hole at right tackle but I’d rather figure that out than move Tippmann and AVT off of positions they are already very good and natural at.

yes signings like those happen every offseason for every team. Again you can invite 90 people to camp, not every guy is going to be big news

Tim Patrick back to Detroit for one year, $4 million. I find it really hard to believe that we weren’t willing to pay a little more than that to have more than one competent receiver in the room when we are trying to take on a reclamation project at quarterback. There’s no way to know but I’m hoping this is a lack of effort and not a lack of people saying I have no desire to play for your team.

Apparently he wanted to stay in Detroit, not that I can blame him.

Im pretty sure OT is going to be addressed very early in the draft - possibly first round.

It’s the first ….. it seems the Jets weren’t as high on Patrick as the pundits predicted. Otherwise he would of been signed earlier this week. He’s 31 years old and presumed a #3 WR which I would imagine the Jets would like to see Corley step into. Plus at this point I’d imagine he’d want to stay on a team closer to a SB at this point.

Of course, and I hope it's that he wanted to be in Detroit and not that he DIDNT want to be with us.

Not sure you can confidently say this. Like I said above I hope this is the case but my fear is that players are turning us down because they want nothing to do with a miserable franchise and totally inexperienced offensive staff. Also Patrick would have been our WR2 unfortunately, even if Lazard stayed which I think he is. I think we're seeing why Lazard wasn't cut... the front office might have had a sneaking suspicion no one wanted our money until we could prove we aren't a total joke. And that's a high hurdle to clear for us.

KJ Osborn would be a nice low budget add. Seemed like he was going to be up and coming as a fringe WR2 before the Vikings drafted Addison.

He WOULD have been you mean... he, like every other WR, has signed somewhere that isn't here.

Let’s face it. Our past history is a huge anchor around our neck in regards to a winning culture…or luck of. Even though hey probably like AG and Mugey the large J&J shadow over the entire team is a concern.

He resigned with Washington if I remember correctly. Just double checked, he signed a one year deal with them.

Yup, we have a ton working against us. Historical incompetent, terrible owner, turf field, awful stadium, state taxes...

Other than that, how was the play Mrs Lincoln?

    Jordan Schultz
    @Schultz_Report
Sources: The #Eagles have been open to trade talks involving TE Dallas Goedert and DE Bryce Huff.
Goedert is in the final year of his deal, while Huff — one of last year’s big free-agent signings — has seen limited playing time due to Philly’s deep rotation.

First off... yikes on Huff. Second... I wonder what the asking price is on Goedert considering he's a FA after this season. If it's a late pick I'd do it. Otherwise hang tight and draft the stud TE after not doing so last year.

I think the brain trust (tongue in cheek) wants to get younger...we were ranked 22nd in league last year via age.... like others stated, taking a chance on some of these guys and hopefully can coach them up...

Is Cooper Kupp injured? Looks like he was recently released.

That’s looking at it from “the glass is half empty” perspective…..yes it’s true a lot of FA spurn the Jets or any team in a highly taxed area especially a poor team. However in this case I feel the Jets are probably better off keeping Lazard. He’s a little younger and really not a bad WR. Rather than signing 31 year old average WRs I would think the best philosophy for this year would be the draft. I see the Jets drafting two WRs one on the high end and one a little later. That would give them Wilson, a high pick maybe 2nd/3rd round to compliment Wilson, Lazard as the seasoned vet, Corley who hopefully shows some strides this year, Gibson, and another draft pick later on …

That’s really the best this staff can do this year with WR. It’s a weak FA class and they are saddled with a ton of dead money left over from last years failed experiments. I think this year is about resigning most of these core guys and drafting some more core guys to build around the QB which at this time isn’t set in stone. Which is the right approach. Build from the inside out not from the outside in which is really what has been the biggest problem philosophy wise. Get those lines beefed up then set up your QB.
