Legal tempering starts tomorrow(Monday). Lert us talk details here. For any individual players that has sgtrong rumors with the Jets please don't hesitate to start a thread for that particular player.
No you are not. Legal tempering is stupid. Tempering started for many of the players before Superbowl.
Legal tempering is complete BS. There will be players committed 5 mins after it starts, like Huff last year. Agents have been negotiating for some time now, with a lot discussions happening during the combine. Which is why I am hoping we are basically near a deal with Fields already, and it will be announced tomorrow that he committed to the Jets.
Zack Rosenblatt @ZackBlatt An under the radar free agent to keep an eye on for the Jets, per sources: Rams DL Michael Hoecht. Versatile player that had a solid season for the Rams. Has played both OLB and DL. Is 6-4 and 310… and still occasionally even drops into coverage. Solid run defender. Only 27 and coming off a couple solid seasons.
multiple reporters including Josina Anderson, who is very well connected, have reported the Jets with high interest in Fields
Sherwood back! Pricey though believe it's the same deal Nick Bolton got. Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter Another deal: LB Jamien Sherwood is returning to the Jets on a three-year deal for $45 million with $30M fully guaranteed on the deal negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus and Robert Bailey.
He was very good last year, we gotta get some big boys up front in the middle now so he and Williams can run around
That looks like a bad overpay. $15 million/year for a linebacker that made a bunch of tackles 5 yards down the field on a horrible run defense? One year of production with no impact plays. Sherwood was solid last year for a MLB in his scenario but he probably isn’t worth that at all. I’m sure he had a bunch of FA interest though based on his potential coverage skills as a former safety.
It’s a 3 year deal and he was ranked I think top 10 in overall grade for this position. He was gonna get paid either way. I agree it was only one year and not enough production. But let’s hope we have his best years ahead
Top ten at what though? No interceptions, no forced fumbles, 2 sacks in a game where you or I would’ve gotten free access to the QB. Monster tackle numbers because he played monster snaps. Decent player that I’m not against retaining and I agree you’re signing him here based on hopeful upswing.
I’m sorry but five yards down the field was mostly because our D was dreadful against the run. Hell, every runner had a three yard head start before he even saw a LB.
Sherwood coming back was deffo one of the pieces I wanted No one else out there in FA was close IMO for the right price
