Haven't seen the customary CAP thread yet, for this year. With the CAP increase to $279.2 million I'm wondering how the team looks.

I am CAP ignorant so I'm hoping some of our resident CAP-ologists can give an idea as to where the team stands. I know Rodgers is a massive hit but it would be interesting to see what other dead money the team has which could inhibit their plays in FA.

Ideally, the Jets would pick up a vet QB to compete with Tyrod for the starters slot for 2025 as well as maybe a guy for the O-line and possible the secondary on defense. Looking forward to this discussion!

I’m no expert on it either but I saw an article on NFL.com that listed team needs and it showed the Jets with about $50M in cap room…assuming that’s after AR and Adams are cut

How about we pivot and don't bring in an old big name player with this new regime - Farve, Rodgers, Odonnell, Esiason, Chris Johnson, Ladanian Tomlinson, Jason Taylor, etc.

Yeah…we’ve done A LOT of that…we bring in “names” but they are all way past their prime…part of that is because we have historically been SO bad at drafting and developing our own players

And then on the few occasions where we do draft good ones, we are so quick to trade them away or let them go…Hugh Douglas, John Abraham, Santana Moss, Pennington…there are quite a few guys we should have kept as they went on to good success once they left.

    Need 2 starting safeties
Seen a report we might go big on Jevon Holland but he could be overpriced
I would prefer 1 of Camryn Bynum or Trevon Moehrig

OK!!! No more ancient players! That's why I mention Fields. Young with possibilities. Not "been there, done that and looking for a rocking chair." You know, every where you turn there are articles on those teams that just "know" when to get rid of players a year before decline vs. a year after. The Jets, on the other hand, are ALWAYS the team waiting for those players. 95% of the time it's a year too late.

    Crazy insane...
