Daboll is trying to save his job. Not exactly sure how he and Shoen are still employed. You have Shoen on video with a humiliated owner over the Saquon debacle, and Daboll acting like a smarmy fool trying to trip up Jayden Daniels. They both came off as total clowns and embarrassed the organization. Rodgers is making a late push to be the savior of coaches that deserved to be fired before his arrival. Like Saleh and JD, Rodgers will end up costing Daboll and Shoen.
Hopefully Davante and Rodgers go to the Giants next year and they win and go to the playoffs while the Jets have another losing season. This organization deserves it. The calls for the HC and GM to be fired will start if that happens.
Disagree, sure. Wishing the Giants go to the playoffs and the Jets have a losing season out of spite, not very fan-like at all.
I like Rodgers, but it will be tough pill to swallow if he succeeds for the Giants. I surely will be rooting for him to fail in this case, and for us to succeed. You rooting for the opposite is puzzling, assuming you are a fan of this team. Are you?
I'm not a fan of the Giants but I believe the new regime made a fatal decision. So when Rodgers and Adams are in the playoffs next year or dare I say winning a Super Bowl then that would expedite the removal of the new regime. They would be on the hot seat in year two if that happens.
It's not out of spite. Glenn made the decision to remove Rodgers and Adams. So if they succeed elsewhere then Glenn was wrong and it's a fireable offense. Let's get this done with as soon as possible, not drag it out for 4 years like Saleh.
that’s bullshit Soxx Aaron Glenn will be judged on how his team performs not on how Aaron Rodgers performs for some other team
You’ve made a lot of poor posts over the years spanning varied and divers topics but this just may be the worst.
If Rodgers and Adams were to go to a Super Bowl next year, the entirety of sports media and fandom would be calling for Glenn to be fired (the new dumbass GM, too). That's a fact. They are already writing the "Rodgers is the best available QB and everybody on the Jets loved him and he makes total sense for Teams X, Y and Z" stories.
Hoping the Jets have a bad season and their HC & GM get fired is pretty shitty if you're a fan of the team. I get the argument to keep Aaron Rodgers for sure, but also the argument to let him go. He's a HOFer who put together a solid statistical season here. But let's remember the Jets seemed to be about his only option last offseason. Even with decent stats, he was consistently not clutch and came up short when the Jets had opportunities to win the game. Clearly the issues on the team were deeper than him, but I don't think there was a single game he drove them down to win - and there were a lot of late, one-score losses. There was tension with the young star who may be the best player on the team and a lot of players and coaches who came with him made this team worse. And that's before you even get to the cap implications. Plus, the guy will turn 42 this season. He could well end up having a good season elsewhere in 2025; I wouldn't write him off. But let's not pretend we let the 20'/21' version of Aaron Rodgers walk out the door because he was absolutely not that.
Nonsense. First off, Davante and AR are very, very unlikely to be together. Secondly, the chances of AR winning a SB if at all is hugely tied to a win now team like may be SF, not one worst than the Jets like the Giants. Only way he makes the SF roster or another top contender is as result of a major QB injury. Lastly, most writers have already gone on record to state the release of AR and Adam’s was absolutely a great move for the future of the Jets. The success of AG and the GM has zero to do with ARs future and everything to do with how we built this team for the future.
Yeah, they said it was a great move for the Jets to cut them (because they hate the Jets) ... and now that Rodgers has been cut, they are saying it's a great move for the Giants to sign him (because they love the Giants). It's the most predictable thing ever.
