Cousins has a dead arm and he would be a mess in the wind in NJ. R Wilson I want no part of I would take Carr over any of them for the short term answer.

So far…. But it’s strange how sometimes ist just the right fit to bring out the potential(or not).

I would take fields out of who’s available , but also like the idea of trading up depending on who gets traded .

In order of my preference 1. Darnold 2. Winston 3. Fields

but that’s just among the veterans that might be available. I’d be open to a rookie or even a trade for someone like Kyler Murray…

Jets should not sign any of these non-franchise qb veterans like Darnold, Carr, etc. for $30+ million a year. It’s a waste of not only money, but time, because you will not contend for a SB with them and they will win enough games to take the jets out of the top qb draft class next year which should be an automatic no. The number one priority for the jets should be to find a franchise qb and if there’s no option to acquire that this season either via the draft or free agency, then the focus should be on next years draft. Trade aging veterans or players who you believe are not part of the core for assets next year, ride it out with Tyrod Taylor or some other similar option, and put yourself in a position to turn the franchise around next year.

Well that is just arguing individual evaluations. But using Carr as your own personal preference choice would still apply to my logic.

Carr is an established enough vet talent that any OC actually worth his job title should be able to build an at least halfway decent offense around him. It doesn't have to be great. It really doesn't even have to be "good". But it should at least show an adequate level of promise of being able to figure out how to score competitive points more often then not, as well as posting a higher upside game or 3 along the way.

If Engstrand doesn't show an ability to do that with whoever we bring in for 2025 he absolutely needs to be fired after year 1. No question or built in excuses. That hire, and at least *HERE*, was more important to any attempt to finally turn things around then bringing in Glenn was imo.

Glenn doesn't have the answers to the "how to field a competitive looking offense" test any more then Saleh did. He is 100% being set up to be Saleh 2.0 in the event Engstrand is a snowballing bust.

Which particular "franchise quarterback" will be set free by the franchise holding their rights? Didn't the Jets just end their relationship with a former franchise quarterback"?

Sign Fields and draft Dart. Keep Taylor as QB2 and let the chips fall where they may with Travis.

Problem with drafting Dart is 7 may be a bit too high and I do not believe he would still be there when the Jets pick in Round 2.

So either trade down the #1 pick or trade up from the # 2 pick to get Dart.

I have a felling Dart will end up going somewhere between 10 and 20, so got to get in the 10 to 12 range to be pretty sure to get him at the right value. If Jets are 1000% sold on him, better to bite the bullet and just take him at 7. I remember losing Farve by 1 pick.

We had a very promising OC who paid the prize thanks to JD and Saleh jamming Wilson at all costs. I hope we don’t make the same stupid mistake again and fire the wrong guy.

    Fields game 1:
The thing is, being sold on someone doesn't mean shit. Everyone thinks they are the best evaluator of talent. The QBs are extremely hard to evaluate, and no one really knows what they will become. It's about the probability of success. And no matter how much someone likes a prospect, in this class it's just slim pickings, low probability prospects at QB all around. That does not warrant a 1st round pick. These are Jordan Travis, Spencer Rattler level guys, maybe a little better, but not by a whole lot.

I would not spend #7 for Dart in this draft especially if we are trading back, which likely means some really good player is there at 7. Maybe if we use second rounder to move up, but I would like to use a 1st rounder to improve the rest of the roster.

Carr is a soft little bitch. Not even trying to be mean, he just has zero shot of playing in NY.
