yeah let’s screw up our cap situation even more down the road for a guy who will be 41 next year and coming off back to back seasons where he was injured, not to mention is a egotistical prick, not like we got a bunch of young guys to pay in a couple years. That was the joe Douglas mentality and look where it got us, hopefully whoever the new gm is does a complete 360

I think you mean 180. They'll do 360 of course.

A 360 is what they usually do.
It makes sense to expect them to do it again.

It’s tough to think straight when you’re consistently banging on the keyboard in anger over sports.

I usually don’t like cliches, but this one seems apropos: “Insanity-doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result”

Good luck Aaron. I really hope you succeed. But…….

glad to see aaron glenn named as head coach. hopefully he can work through all of the idiocy in this franchise and win. we have been down this road so many times the past 24 years and its been a dud for one reason(or another) everytime. now its glenns turn and once again i am hopeful for success and a guy i can like and enjoy being the coach. hopeful that he will bring in decent players who arent complete idiots and win some football games, enough to make the playoffs and eventually maybe even a superbowl.

The NFL is a results based business. What has Aaron Rodgers done for the Jets?

are you serious? Do you realize the path Todd Bowles, Adam games, Robert saleh, and Jeff ulbrich took to become a head coach also? How did that turn out? Why is this time different? Besides being a shitty defensive coordinator who had 12 man on the field and got schooled in the playoffs by a rookie qb, what makes him qualified to be a head coach? Has he proven he can win games or is he all hype right now just like Bowles, Adam gase, and saleh? And remember woody hired Aaron Glenn so he already has a 90 percent chance of failing here as woody has whiffed on every new hire since he bought the team, history doesn’t lie it only repeats itself. Remember non of us interviewed this guy it was woody the same guy who loved bowles, Adam gase and saleh and who said ulbrich will be a fine interim coach, Woody's last concern is about winning Football games, his 1st concern is making headlines and selling tickets and Aaron Glenn checks both of those boxes.

it turned out the way it does for MANY guys going into being a hc in the nfl. and then there are alot of stories just like his that end up being great. im a generally negative guy but whats the point of being a fan if everything is going to be negative all the time? i might as well not care, it would be more rewarding. woody is an idiot, that much ill agree with. but were stuck with him. its either hope for the best or piss and moan when there is nothing to piss and moan about.

i know alot of you will remember me hating herm, disliking and then hating the clown from baltimore and being disgusting with everything since. but today is a new day. new hc new gm and i dont know enough about any of it to say its going to suck right now. so ill be at hoping for the best because my other option is just wallowing in make believe sorrow.

The cap situation is what it is. My understanding is if he's cut they'll get hit with a ton of dead cap money. So if they cut him and he plays for another team they'll be paying for him (on their cap) to play for another team. That would be typical of the Jets.

I saw somewhere if he plays for the Jets his cap number for 2025 is a mere $23 million that is chump change nowadays for a NFL starting QB.

The dude paid his dues this past season.

He hung in there, took a beating along the way, survived a few vicous serious looking hits, until the bitter end.

Aaron Rodgers deserves to lead this football team.

yeah but than we on the hook for 63 million in 2026 wether he plays or not, if we cut him this year we just take a big dead cap this season and 2026 is free, that’s when we gotta start paying the young players, Lets face it even if Aaron Glenn turns out to be the next Bill Bellichek we still ain't going anywhere next year, and thats a big if.

Yeah, you said all that before but this is real life, even in the NFL - you don't get what you "deserve" you get what you earn.

What neither you nor anyone else has been able to answer is the question you clicked "Reply" on but failed to answer: "What has Aaron Rodgers done for the Jets?"

It’s really not about Rodgers the player at all, it’s about whether we can stomach a 49m dead money cap hit to be rid of him. If we can I’m all for moving on, but I’m not sure we can even field a team with that kind of hit.

Meh, the Raiders did it with Carr and the Broncos with Wilson. The cap can be circumvented as long as you eat one shitty year realistically
