How are you so sure McCarthy would come here? Because of Rodgers? What if Rodgers decides he doesn't want to play? Then what? Stop jumping to conclusions.
we are definitely drafting a qb in the first round if not this year than next, Mike McCarthy will definitely come here, he wanted to come here first time around but woody threw him under the bus for the genius Adam Gase, how did that turn out huh? You expect the genius who passed on mcccarthy for Adam Gase to hit on Aaron Glenn?
because he has very limited options? Who is gone going to go coach Jacksonville? Money talks and a blank check and letting him pick his gm and whole staff guarantees he comes here
I don't even believe the Jets interviewed him so he's clearly not coming here. Glenn wouldn't be my first choice (which was Vrabel but he's gone) but everyone hating on him because of one game is insane. They had a lot of turnovers that's not Glenn's fault.
that’s the point they didn’t even reach out for a interview, when he is clearly the best coach available right now and only coach with experience, this is the definition of stupidity, he has clearly fallen in woodys lap and woody is to stupid to do anything t about it
This takes the cake for me. Who cares that he has zero experience as a HC and was an abominable DC, I liked him when I was little!
How about he’s got zero experience running a team, is a defensive coach only, AND is a terrible defensive coach at that? This is by far the worst of the no experience DC morons we have shuffled in here over the now DECADES.
what else do you expect from A invisible who is the worst owner in the nfl? And hired gase over McCarthy?
We're definitely gonna see Sauce in man coverage now. Glenn loves him some man coverage. To his detriment I think.
Ugh I just wanted an experienced HC so we could skip the "figuring it out" phase at the very least. I am whelmed.
Truth is, beyond everyone having an opinion or two, there is no way of knowing how the new GM and HC will turn out. But whomever we get, I will wish them the very best possible outcome. It’s not going to change over night, but hopefully we get to watch a disciplined team that plays like a team, not a collection of talented players each doing there own thing. The most important qualities are leadership, with the authority and accountability to make required changes to the organization and to the players. The background is important but secondary to leadership. You can grow in experience and by your mistakes but you can’t demand respect and support because of your title and your reputation, only by your actions and character. Hope thats who we get.
Agree. I was hoping there was a chance for spagnuolo. Johnson wasn’t interested . I was back and forth with Flores. No thanks with McCarthy. I’m happy with Glenn, not so sure about the gm…. But apparently it’s who glen wanted.
Guys, we all want the same thing. The Jets to be a playoff caliber team every season, getting into the dance and fighting for a shot at the big prize. We all know once you're in, anything can happen. See Washington this season. I'm so fucking sick of this franchise. Nothing ever makes sense with them. I really hope Aaron Glenn and Newmark are the answer. I'm going to pull for them because it seems to be close to a done deal but I would've rather taken an experienced HC with a track record of winning like a McCarthy and even Flores. Hopefully this isn't another 5 years down the tank. I'm really hoping.
You have faith in woody making the right hire on a no name first time coach? You would be the only one in the world, this is the equivalent of throwing a 200 yard Hail Mary, lions were 20th ranked in total defense this year, Glenn is not even a good defensive coach, what warrants him to be a head coach? That he was a ex jet?
Guy is not even a good defensive coach, besides being a ex jet what the fuck qualified him to be a head coach? As of January 21, 2025, the Detroit Lions defense was ranked 20th in the NFL for defensive yards average. The Lions allowed an average of 342.4 yards per game. This is 100 percent undeniable proof that woody only cares about headlines and selling tickets he doesn’t give a fuck about winning.
What's the argument in favor of Glenn? I'm willing to be convinced but I've heard basically nothing compelling yet.
