I agree that Halaby is the most intriguing GM option we’ve interviewed. Other guys don’t seem to have the same upside. I always prefer to take a shot at someone who can be great vs a retread

I get that but effective analysis isn't something one guy with a harvard brain brings. The Jets would need a team of developers and analysts to gain an edge in this league and there's no way Woody Johnson is going to commit to that IMO

Going to Harvard in and of itself means nothing. Idzik went to Dartmouth. Brick Johnson goes to Harvard, and let's just say that trust fund baby lines don't get smarter over time. But Halaby I think is the real deal.

It’s amazing watching how the Rams just keep finding these good mid round defensive players and low investment offensive lineman.

Surprised we’re not trying to find someone directly from that organization. That’s kind of why Ray Agnew appeals to me from the Lions. He cut is teeth in the personnel department of the Rams.

Yeah, he should be OK, 109 mil career earnings: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/andrew-luck-net-worth-former-nfl-qb-lifestyle-2023/

Note this: "When Luck retired, the Colts could’ve asked for money back. However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Indianapolis decided not to recoup the $24.8 million they potentially could’ve received from Luck. Maybe it was compensation for the lack of offensive line talent during his time in Indy." I really really really don't want the guy who was his GM at the time. Blundered numerous picks too aside from OL, Izdik level drafting. It would be prudent to move in different directon.

For me it has to be either Halaby or Borgonzi, one of these two. I just see them so much ahead of everyone else. And btw, GMs can be picked even now from play-off teams. Time to focus and get one hired already, no need to prolong at least the GM part much longer. They can interview scrub HCs they keep inviting later. Finish the GM hire and let him be a part of the process for HC as well.

Halaby just makes way too much sense. Young analytics guy from a consistently successful franchise. An outside the box thinker for a franchise that still operates like it's the 80s.

It just makes too much sense, which is why I'll be shocked if we actually hire him. We are way too dumb an organization to do something that makes this much sense.
