Given how vocal some of our so-called "stars" are on this team, that could be a legitimate concern to happen again if he were to be hired here. Looking around at all of the names of the popular candidates that are thrown around in all of these conversations, I can't say that a single one of them excites me in the least. We might as well make a David Culley-type hire like the Texans did a few years ago and ride out next year, which is going to be pitiful anyway, and hope there's better candidates available in January 2026 rather than tying the future of this franchise for the next 3-5 years to any of the candidates that have been linked with this job so far. The decision not to fire Saleh and Douglas a year ago is looking more and more like a franchise destroying moment.
Flores won 10 games and 9 games in 2020/2021 and didn't make the playoffs. In 2022 they won 9 games and made the playoffs. Flores has proven he can win enough games that typically get you in the playoffs and also proved he can't take a horrible team and turn them into a 10 win team.
Yep the move should have been made a year ago to get rid of Saleh. The roster was too good to go into a season with a head coach that at best was a huge gamble.
that’s a reason TO hire Flores in my book. these players had their chance with a good buddy buddy Robert Saleh and they were undisciplined losers. Time to get serious
More winning seasons in 3 years than the Jets have had since we lost the AFC championship game in Pittsburgh.
Read my posts above, there is plenty of subject matter there. Btw Flores sucks tonight. Completely obliterated by Ben Johnson whom Flores actually fired. LOL. I just cannot understand why we would want that guy. Even Aaron Glenn is definitely better than him, but with Ben Johnson, Monken, Coen, and others available on the offensive side, it's not even a competition. And if you want former HC, Kingsbury actually made play-offs and has top 6 offense in the NFL right now as OC. Flores would be at the absolute bottom of the list.
It's interesting to watch you folks go back and forth about a retread coach. Is this what we are going to bicker about for the next 5 years? I mean, DAMN. Some of you act like Flores is Harbaugh without the opportunities. SMH. Besides, it's an incredible assumption that he comes to the Jets regardless. If he's that good he ain't coming here.
Alienating your top QB is the reason to hire him? I know Saleh is soft, but this is the opposite extreme. There is a way to discipline without having a feud and suing half the league and throwing away offensive coaching talent that is fucking him in the ass right now as we speak.
Your logic makes no sense though. Flores turned the direction of Miami around. That's why they became a playoff team the past few years. Meanwhile you want Vrabel who inherited a playoff winning team and turned them into losers.
I don't want Vrabel either. Also, speaking of logic not making sense, let's not give credit for making play-offs to someone who actually did not make play-offs. McDaniels revamped their offense and that's what made the play-offs. Flores fired Ben Johnson and installed 25th offense in NFL and struggled offensively. Looks like Ben Johnson is extracting some revenge now though
They won the same amount of games and actually even less in 2022 than 2020 but made the playoffs Can you just admit that usually if you win 10 games you make the playoffs nowadays? I'll sign up for a 10 win Jets team next season. Would you?
Definitely wipe Vrabel off your lists. I think NE knew he was gonna get hired this season and didn't want to jeopardize not getting him. I don't see Ben Johnson coming here either. Heck he might stay with Detroit still if the right situation doesn't come to him. I truly think it would be ideal to hire Kliff as the next OC/headcoach. The reason you hire him as the headcoach is due to what he has done with Daniel's, and Murray. I think he would make the best potential fit for a rookie QB and Kliff as the play caller. I would then seriously bring in Rex to run the defense. I think with what we have seen from Rex, as long as he can strictly focus on the defensive side of the ball he would be perfect. When Rex is required to be a headcoach he is to far over his head. As far as GM, I really have no idea, granted I love Reddick as his knowledge level is thru the roof but is he the most ideal fit, probably not.
Usually yes, but that year you needed more. He lost to good teams head to head that surpassed him due to this tie breaker. Also, he had 5 game win season and 9 games. 9 games I would not sign up for, and neither 5 of course. The record is the record and he also did have a good QB in Tau at least for a large part of each year. And this is with all the other red flags. I am out on him and I hope he does not even get an interview.
NY media would eat Flores alive I think. Woody needs his head examined if he brings him here to be the head coach.
