This doesn't sound like somebody who wants out (pulled from a Cimini article: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/43064614/jets-garrett-wilson-tries-clear-air-sideline-outburst)
"I just go about my day ... wherever my feet are at. If they [extend my contract], that would be a blessing. It would be awesome. I love the Jets. At the end of the day, they were the ones that believed in me. But, yeah, I can't be worrying about that. I have to go out and finish these three games the right way."

Garrett needs to meet with the new GM and Head Coach before even thinking of asking for a trade. The team is clearly headed in a new direction.

If he doesn’t like what they say, then sure, ask for a trade.

Play out 2025, option in 2026, and then tagged in 2027 and 2028.

The last thing the Jets should do is let legitimate young talent leave the building.

"I'd like to be involved, love to make an impact on the game, but people see it differently," Wilson said. "That's out of my control."

    “People” = Rodgers and Adams

If there is any fuel needed for this possible trade request rumor, this is it. I don't think Adams is the decision maker, but Brick/Downing/Rodgers need to start feeding GW first in the last two games. This comment is pretty bad.

Then you trade him and you get a HAUL for him.

The Jets need to build and build man. I would love to keep him but you don't trade him for anything less than two firsts, otherwise, he sits out.

No, he is a keeper. Even if he requests a trade, we can't trade him. We don't really have a WR room without him. Adams is getting old and is likely gone next season, and without GW, who do we have? The rest of the room are not even NFL players. I don't understand why Gipson is on the roster. Corley cannot get into active roster over a guy like Smith, whom they met on the way to the stadium. I do hope Corley is not terrible (there is a sliver of hope there since he was coming from small school and learning curve may be bigger so he could take a leap), but we certainly cannot count on him.

Maybe the only silver lining from Reddick holdout is that it showed it might not be the best idea to miss a lot of games like that. We have GW's rights and I would not trade him even if he asks. Still, new Jets FO needs to do anything possible to avoid it. I would actually try to extend him this offseason.

The jets new Gm will have to make some tough decisions. Sauce, Wilson, Johnson and Hall are getting close to the end of their rookie deals.
AVT will want an extension, and the defense has tons of free agents. Lazard and Ruckert stink and should be cut. And then of course Rodgers and Adams seem to hold all the cards.
If a team ever needed a fresh set of eyes to review and remake the roster, it's the jets.

My point still stands… The NIL was only a piece of an example. For these kids to have any career longevity, they need to win. The New York Jets aren’t winning anytime within the next half to full decade so, if I were him, and wanted any form of legacy other than that of shit I would get out of New York land.

My biggest concern is basically the morale. The morale in that building is horrendous. Before any football moves take place, whomever they sucker and bring in is going to have to take care of that before he does anything else.

The title of this thread is so mis-stated. The "demise" has been going on for over 50 years with no end in sight.
