Exactly! Why would you want to drop a ball that was your first ever td in the league? A stupid ass mistake. This team has a Gilligan in every game. It's been like that for years now.
Give the kid a break. It was a dumb mistake but the whole damn team has made dumb mistakes all season. Its just one of many for me
Maybe it’ll end up being the start of an amazing career. Imagine our RB/WR rooms next season if he’s a baller and Breece recovers his testosterone.
Said this in the game thread too. It’s an awful play. It’s a losing play that could’ve cost us the game. But only losers define themselves by one play so I’d imagine he learns and gets way bette from this. It also happens more often than people think. Kyle Pitts had 20 yards of separation walking into the end zone this past Sunday and was stripped by the safety. Camera angles ended up being inconclusive but it happens.
It probably happened a lot before replay and never became a thing. They just called it a touchdown. But now they watch every stupid play from 100 angles. I’m not sure it’s good for the game. Not making an excuse, Corley shoulda held onto that ball like he does that gold chain around his neck but still, I’m not sure calls like that align with the “spirit of the game” and should be emphasized in todays replay environment
Not gonna lie. As soon as he did that I turned the game off. There's a reason this guy can't sniff a roster spot and that explains it. No brains whatsoever. I have zero tolerance for that. I've seen this kind of thing happen 3-4 times now since I started watching football. How are people this stupid?
I blame him 100%. You don't celebrate until the play is done. He's an idiot and should be immediately cut from this roster.
The Jets protected him last night by not making him available to the media. I know the Jets think they did the kid a favor -- what was he going to say ? -- but that's the problem with this team: NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
Huh? Coach called him out and said it was a stupide mistake. Moving on. He’ll learn from it. They guy has talent and they need to figure out a way to feed him the ball including running again.
He will be fine. It was dumb but you have to get him on the field if he’s dynamic. it’s clear Mike Williams just doesn’t have the rapport with Aaron but having a veteran back there is good for depth purposes. I’d rather have Corley and Gipson get those reps and we did see them both get that opportunity last night. We can reevaluate once Lazard comes back but let the kids get those reps now.
I turned it off shortly thereafter, when Charles roughed the punter and got called for 15. I was done right there and then. I went and watched Apollo 13 for the 6 millionth time. At least I didn't get aggravated watching that.
Williams just can’t get any separation like Adams and Wilson can. I don’t know if he lost a step post injury but he hasn’t been impressive at all.
I know I'm probably being overly harsh on this but...does he really? Especially if they just immediately turn around and look for ways to feed him the ball again? IDK, i keep going back to a comment made in the game thread last night. Dude has been playing football his entire life. Where it really does take a special level of stupid to allow that happen, much less on your first TD where you'd more assume that as an excited rookie he'd have a death grip on that ball. Especially being a should have been more humbled by now 3rd round pick guy at that. People love to generally talk a lot about holding players accountable when things go bad. In this specific case, and given the current problematic state of this team as far as constantly making dumb mistakes, I'd be really disappointed to see this kid get any schemed in love anytime in the near future. More confident he might actually learn something meaningful out of this staying buried for a while longer.
Yeah…I’m not too forgiving on that. That is a 100% STUPID and self inflicted dumbass play. Let me ask it this way…if that happened while Parcells was coach, he doesn’t see the field the rest of the game…and probably more games after. There is ZERO accountability here. Same with Charles…that’s not the first dumb penalty he’s had on ST. Dude…that is your whole game…can’t do stupid shit. Bad teams hurt themselves and do stupid shit. That is us. I’m glad we won the game despite that stuipidity, but there needs to be accountability…
Post of the century, hahahaha. "Houston, we've got a problem. . . " LMFAO. ETA: Please don't tell me that was incidental.
Charles is a ST ace but players make dumb decisions all the time, from all fascets...you can't bench them all. Corley had a dumb play...how do you, as a coach, hold him accountable from then on...we don't know those conversations that were had after, or will continue to have in the film room or in practice. But as a young kid who's been begging for an opportunity, you have to work your ass off to be trusted to get on the field again. Corley saw the field a few more times after the blunder but this is a kid who's been fighting for PT the whole year and he's finally starting to inch his way into the game, instead of being active but not receiving no run. He's in on ST now so he's getting into the graces of the staff...reminder, he is 5th on the DC right now.
