Why is it too much to call plays and be a HC? I mean Shanahan is doing it. Reid is doing it. Rex did it. The defense looked like it regressed even in the 1st 3 games. It just continued the same trajectory. Probably didn't really help that Saleh left as it appears he had a little more hand in defense, but again, it was on the downward trajectory either way.
calling the defense and running the team is too much... for Ulbrich. He's not a Shanahan or an Andy Reid, obviously, he's not as good as them, he's not good enough to do both. At this point he probably plays out the string as is and enjoys his "15 minutes" as a HC in the NFL but if he really wanted to win he would recognize he can't handle doing both jobs
The roster isn't the problem this year, but this was supposed to be the all-in year. When the veterans go from kind of washed to totally washed, and the 2022 class looks to get paid, the roster will fall apart. Might as well get ahead of that now and rebuild.
It sure looked liked JD creamed his pants though when this move was made. Or he should be in Hollywood, because this acting was top notch.
Woody's sense of timing is non-existent, he will wait until all is completely lost before he can act and only after a highly public and televised embarrassment that can be used as video evidence of his failure occurs.
I really am astonished that people think Rodgers is going to be here next year. New coach, new GM are without a doubt inevitable. Zero chance any coach is keeping Hackett. Zero. Rodgers would have to learn a new offense. Fat chance of that happening. What I honestly think is Rodgers and Woody will figure out a fair number to restructure so he can retire and collect some of what he loses for retiring. You can’t hire a coach to come here being burdened by the Rodgers demands. No one is taking that job. Not to mention D Adams contract was written to pull the ripcord after this season and Reddick will be gone too. Literally every sign points to this season being the end in my opinion.
I understand but you don't necessarily have jerk off to it either. Again, either Douglas belongs in Hollywood, or he was really excited about the move.
I think considering where we're at with this FO and roster I think best thing for us is if he retires and we just start clean tbh
And if he doesn't want to learn new offence, fuck him. Most likely that's exactly what will happen, but we don't know that. We probably will be in the market of Fields or maybe Cousins. Or even Sam. But what I don't want to do is to downgrade further at QB from Rodgers, who while below average is still the best QB we had in over a decade. Usually we have #32 rated QB starter.
I think whoever we get will be our next Fitz/McCown for a year or 2 at most while we try to find our next QB in the draft. I just don’t see a new regime giving Hernandez much of a shot
I don't really think they bring in another QB if Rodgers walks unless they draft one. They have Tyrod for 6 million next year and probably just go that route.
If we can find a promising youngster, this makes sense. I am getting a little worried about Travis. I liked that pick, even though I would have got with Rattler, but Travis had some potential to be decent. However, he is still not back to practice it looks like and the injury he had was pretty devastating. Will he ever be the same guy after that, especially given how long the recovery takes? Big part of his game was being a dual threat. Granted it was a 5th round pick, but still would be good to know what we have there. Other than that, will we pick a 1st round QB? Not sure if there will be one worth taking. And if not, and Travis is still a question mark, I do not want to go with Tyrod as unquestionable #1. I like Tyrod, but only as a back-up. This to me is a clear downgrade even from today's Rodgers, and Tyrod is even more injury prone than Rodgers. I think Tyrod may have takers in the trade market. No one wanted to give him 2 years because guys like him are really year to year mercenaries as no one wants to commit, but next year only one year will be left and someone will need a veteran back-up, so we can essentially give him away for next to nothing if needed. So, depending on Travis' progress and what we use a 1st round pick on, we may need a better QB1 that Tyrod next year. And I don't want that QB be any worse than Rodgers is today, which a little below average starter. No more #32 by a wide margin year in and year out.
Kick this idiot to the curb. He’s a cancer on this team. All the clues were there about this clown, but our owner and GM both had their heads up their ass.
